- This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.
- Keep product out of the reach of children and pets to avoid chewing and swallowing.
- Product operating and storage temperature is from 0 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius. Under and over this temperature might affect the function.
- Never open the product. Touching the inside electrics can cause electric shock. Repairs or service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
- Do not expose to heat, water, moisture, direct sunlight!
- Please protect your ears against loud volume. Loud volume can damage your ears and risk in hearing loss.
- Bluetooth wireless technology operates within a range of about 70 m (30 feet). The maximum communication distance may vary depending on the presence of obstacles (people, metal objects, walls, etc.) or the electromagnetic environment.
- Microwaves emitting from a Bluetooth device may affect the operation of electronic medical devices.
- The unit is not waterproof. If water or foreign objects enter the unit, it may result in fire or electric shock. If water or a foreign object enters the unit, stop use immediately.
- Only charge with supplied Adaptor. The direct plug-in adapter is used as disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. So, make sure there is space around the power outlet for easy access.
- Do not use non original accessories together with the product as this can make the product functionality abnormal.

DAB/FM radio with preset station Instruction manual
COMPONENTS

INSTALLATION
- Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
- Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the mains voltage and before all other connections have been made.
Switching the device on/off or standby
- Pull the telescopic antenna all the way out.
- Press and hold the power On/Off button until the device switches on.
- The device starts in the previously selected audio mode.
Note: When the device is started for the first time it will start in DAB Radio mode and does an automatic radio station scan. The date and time will automatically sync when radio stations are found.
Standby mode
To switch off the device to standby mode, short press the Power on/off button. The time will be shown on the display. Short press again to turn on the device again.
Off mode
- If you won’t be using the radio for a longer period of time, you can use the Off mode.
- To enter the Off mode, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, until the display turns off. (the radio should be in standby mode first)
- To switch back to standby mode repeat the above, until the display shows the time.
- Now you can turn on the radio by short press the power button.
Note: After approx. 75 minutes with no signal reception, the device will automatically switch to standby mode when powered by the mains. It will switch to off mode when battery powered.
Adjusting the volume
Use the volume control on the right side of the device. The volume bar will appear on the display.
The volume range is from 0 to 20
Changing the device language
- Long press MODE to open the system menu.
- Use the volume control or
until Language is shown and confirm with OK.
- Use the volume control or
until your desired language is shown and confirm with OK.
Setting saved will appear briefly on the display which then reverts to the previously selected mode.
Note: If you don’t press any button in about 10 seconds, the display will revert to the previously selected menu option. (The settings that are not confirmed by pressing the OK button, will not be stored.) To quit the menu, short press the MODE button or wait 70 seconds.
Changing the operating mode
- Short press the MODE button repeatedly to switch between the digital radio DAB, FM radio, AUX and Bluetooth mode.
- Press OK to confirm the highlighted selection or wait a few seconds until the device automatically enters the selected mode.
DAB radio mode
Tuning
Switching to DAB mode will automatically play the previously selected station.
- Short press
to open the full list of stations.
- Use
to select the desired station and confirm with OK.
Note: You will also find the complete list of stations in the menu (long press the mode button) by selecting Station List.
- In this same menu you can also initiate a full channel scan by selecting Scan and press OK
- If you want to select a specific frequency/ frequency block, select Manual Tune.
- The signal strength of the chosen frequency block will be shown as bars on the display.
- There are no setting options available on this screen. Press OK, then MODE to quit the system menu.
- Not all stations are on the air at all times; It could be that sme stations have disappeared, or you have received stations in another region that you can no longer receive in your new location: To clean up the station list, you can remove these stations in the system menu with Prune Invalid.
FM mode
Selecting FM mode will automatically play the previously selected station.
If that station cannot be received at that time, the device will automatically search for the next station which can be received.
Short press to search for a station in 0.05 MHz steps.
Long press to start a station scan. The scan stops once the first receivable station is located.
Note: in the system menu (long press the mode button) select Scan Setting. Here you can select whether All Stations or only Strong Stations will be included in the scan. Confirm your choice by pressing the OK button
Saving your favorite stations in DAB/FM mode
- Select the station that you wish to save as favorite.
- Long press MODE to open the system menu.
- Use
to select Preset Store and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select the desired memory preset and confirm with OK.
Favorite Station Set/appears briefly in the display which then returns to the DAB or FM mode.
It’s possible to store a maximum of 20 presets.
Recall stored favorite stations in DAB/FM mode
- Long press and hold MODE to open the system menu.
- Use :
to select Preset Recall and confirm with OK. The full preset list will show.
- Use :
to select the desired station and confirm with OK.
The display will jump back to DAB or FM mode.
The memory preset will be shown on the display.

Aux-in mode
- Short press mode multiple times until Audio In is highlighted and press ok
- Use a 3.5mm stereo audio cable (not included) and connect it to the AUX IN jack on the right side panel of the unit. You can connect an mp3 player or other audio device.
Note: If the volume on the DAB-57 is too low, turn up the volume on your external device
Bluetooth
In Bluetooth mode you can connect your Bluetooth enabled mobile device and play music via the speaker of the radio.
Note: Always refer to the instruction manual of your mobile device how to scan for Bluetooth devices.
Establishing a Bluetooth connection
First switch on the Bluetooth function on your mobile device.
- Short press mode multiple times until Bluetooth (
) is highlighted and press ok
- The display shows a flashing ‘Pairing’
Note: if the radio was connected to another device before, long press the OK button until ‘pairing’ is shown on the display - Start the device scan on your mobile device.
- Select: “Denver DAB-57” on your mobile device and connect the device.
- Connectedwill appear on the display, a beep will sound and the name of the connected device will appear on the screen.
- Now_you can use your favorite music player app to play music.
Controlling music play.
- The radio can play all music supported by your mobile device by using your favorite music player app.
- First start playback on your mobile device.
- You can use play functions directly on the radio unit: Short press OK to start and pause playback.
- Skip to the previous track with≤
- Skip to the next track with≥
- Use volume to adjust the volume
Note: If the volume on the radio unit is too low, turn up the volume on your mobile device.
Alarm function
Setting the alarm
Important note: You cannot use the alarm function if the device is used in battery mode or when the device is in full off mode (long press the power button in standby mode until the screen is black).
The following steps will guide you how to set the alarm.
- Press and hold MODE on the volume control to open the system menu.
- Use
and select Alarms. Confirm with OK.
- Use
to select Alarm Tor Alarm 2and confirm with OK.
- Use
select Alarm and use OK to switch between On and Off.
- Use
select Time and confirm with OK.
- Use
to set the hour and the minute, then confirm each with OK.
- Use
to select Source and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select between FM, DAB and Buzzer and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select Repeat and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select between Once, Daily, Weekends and Workdayand confirm with OK.
- Use
select Volume and confirm with OK.
- .Use
to set the volume in the bars from Bto 20 and confirm with OK.
Note: The volume can’t be set to 0. - Quit the menu with MODE. The alarm symbol 1
or 2
lights up in the display.
- Switch the device to standby by short pressing on/off.
- The selected alarm signal will sound at the set time.
When the alarm is triggered:
- Press the OK button to snooze for S minutes or if you would like to extend the snooze time you can press
repeatedly (after first pressing the OK button when the alarm is triggered) to extend the snooze alarm to 5 – 70- 75
or 30 minutes. - Press The Power on/off button to deactivate the alarm signal. {The alarm will sound the next day if configured)
Sleep mode
Setting the sleep mode
Sleep mode is a timer which turns off the device after a specific configured time.
- Press and hold MODE to open the system menu when playing music.
- Use
to select Sleep and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select between 75 – 30 – 45 – 60 – 75 – 90 – 705 – 720 minutes or Off.
- Short press the OK to confirm.
The display shows the sleep symbol and the remaining sleep time.
Time settings
Setting the time/date manually
If you do not have any DAB/FM reception, you can also configure the time and date manually.
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu.
- Use
to select Time/Date and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select Set Time/Date and confirm with OK.
- Use
to set Day- Month – Year- Hour – Minute one by one, and confirm each with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen.
Setting the time format
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu.
- Use
to select Time/Date and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select Set Hour System and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select 24 hour system or 12 hour system and confirm with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen

Setting the Clock style
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu

Setting the Auto update
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu

to select Time/Date and confirm with OK.

- Use
to select between No Update and Update from Radio (the DAB station will set the time automatically if reception is good), and confirm with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen.
Setting the display lighting
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu
- Use
to select Backlightand confirm with OK.
- Use
to select Timeout and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select between Always On and a switch-off ti me for the lighting between 70 and 780 seconds, and confirm with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen.
Setting the display lighting level
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu
- Use
to select Backlightand confirm with OK
- Use
to select Leve/and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select the brightness of the display between Low, Medium and High, and confirm with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen.
Setting the EQ (Equalizer)
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu
- Use
to select EQand confirm with OK
- Use
to select Leve/and confirm with OK.
- Use
to select between Normal, Classic, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Flat, Movie and News, and confirm with OK.
The display will go back to the menu screen.
Restoring factory settings
- Long press the MODE to open the system menu
- Use
to select Factory Reset and confirm with OK
- Use
to select No or Yes and confirm with OK.
Software version
Here you can view the software version installed.
- Long press MODE to open the system menu.
- Use
to select System Version and confirm with OK.
The Software version is displayed.
Press MODE to quit the menu item.
