Basic Operation

  1. Powering On: Press and hold the main Power button until the front LCD display illuminates and the power button indicator light stays steadily lit.

  2. Enabling AC Outlets: Press the AC button. The AC icon and frequency metrics (60 Hz, 120V) will appear on the display, energizing the four AC sockets.

  3. Enabling DC & USB Ports: Press the corresponding DC output switch next to the USB cluster or the 12V socket. The corresponding display indicators illuminate.

  4. Screen Sleep: When the unit is active, short-pressing the main Power button turns off the LCD screen without interrupting power to connected devices.

  5. Powering Off: Press and hold the main Power button for approximately 3 seconds or more until the LCD screen displays 'OFF', then release to shut down completely.

Automatic Shutoff Notice: If the unit is powered on but no port switches are activated and no load is connected within 5 minutes, it will automatically shut off. The default overall standby duration with switches active but zero load is 6 hours.

Recharging Methods

The OUPES Mega 1 supports multiple charging methods including AC wall input, solar panels, car accessory sockets, hybrid charging, and generator sources.

  1. AC Wall Charging: Insert the supplied AC charging cable into the side AC Recharging Input Port and connect the plug to a grounded wall outlet. The display indicates incoming wattage (up to 1400W in fast mode).

  2. Solar Panel Charging: Connect compatible solar panels to the side Anderson port using the included MC4-to-Anderson adapter. Ensure array open-circuit voltage (Voc) remains within 12V to 80V DC (MPPT operating range 18V-75V, up to 800W).

  3. Car Charging: Start the vehicle engine first. Connect the Anderson-to-Car cable between the power station side input port and the vehicle 12V cigarette lighter receptacle (12-15V DC, 8A).

  4. Combined Hybrid Charging: Connect both AC grid power and solar input simultaneously. The system draws up to 2200W combined input, achieving an 80% charge in approximately 36 minutes.

Configuring Fast and Slow AC Charging Modes

You can toggle the internal AC charging rate between Fast (1400W) and Slow (700W) directly from the front hardware controls to match circuit limits or reduce fan noise.

  1. Ensure the station is powered ON, and disconnect all input cables and output loads.

  2. Simultaneously press and hold the IOT button and the left DC button for 3 to 5 seconds until the LCD screen flashes and displays 'SET'.

  3. Lightly press the IOT button to toggle between 'L' (Slow charging, 700W input) and 'H' (Fast charging, 1400W input).

  4. Press and hold the main POWER button for 3 to 5 seconds to confirm. The screen will stop flashing and display 'SUC'.

  5. Press and hold the POWER button again for 3 to 5 seconds to exit the charging configuration menu.

Emergency Power Supply (EPS / UPS) Mode

When connected to an AC wall outlet while running appliances from its AC output receptacles, power bypasses directly from the grid. In the event of a grid outage, the power station automatically switches to battery power within 20 milliseconds.

  • The EPS function provides a switchover time under 20ms and does not support 0ms online UPS switching.

  • Do not connect critical server infrastructure or enterprise workstations requiring true uninterruptible 0ms power without independent validation.

  • Total connected load in EPS mode must not exceed 2000W continuous. Loads exceeding 2000W trigger overload protection within 1 to 60 seconds.

Capacity Expansion with B2 Battery Packs

System capacity can be expanded from the base 1024Wh up to 5120Wh by connecting up to two optional OUPES B2 expansion battery units (2048Wh each).

  1. Ensure that both the Mega 1 main unit and the B2 expansion battery are completely powered OFF before connecting cables.

  2. Open the protective door over the expansion port on the side of the unit and securely mate the heavy-duty expansion cable between the power station and the B2 pack.

  3. Power on the main station and confirm that the LCD display recognizes the combined capacity and shows input power.

  4. Always power off the entire system before disconnecting the expansion cable. Plugging or unplugging expansion cables while powered on will trigger overcurrent protection and can cause hardware damage.

Smart App Connectivity & Frequency Switching

The power station can be managed locally or remotely using the Cleanergy / OUPES companion mobile app via Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

  1. Download and install the companion mobile application by scanning the QR code label on the unit or searching official app stores.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device, open the app, and select the Mega 1 power station.

  3. Follow on-screen app prompts to connect the station to your local 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for remote monitoring.

  4. To manually switch AC output frequency (50Hz / 60Hz): With unit on and AC output turned off, press the main Power button and DC button simultaneously. Tap the AC button to toggle the flashing frequency, long press Power to display 'SUC', and long press Power again to exit.

Reset Procedures

  1. Wireless Module (IOT) Reset: If pairing fails or connection is lost, press and hold the IOT button on the front panel for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module.

  2. AC Input Overload Breaker Reset: If the AC input current exceeds 25A during grid charging, the physical circuit breaker button on the side panel will pop out. Disconnect the charging cable, check for electrical issues, and press the overload protector button back in to reset.

  3. Output Circuit Fault Recovery: If an output port trips due to overload or short circuit (e.g., E000, E001, E010, E011, E012), remove the connected electrical load and press the corresponding AC or DC output power button to reset the circuit.

  4. BMS Baseline Recalibration: If remaining runtime or percentage readings become erratic, fully discharge the unit until it automatically shuts down, then recharge it uninterrupted to 100% until fans cease operation.
