REVELTRONICS A0041537028 Boost Pressure Sensor
Introduction
The REVELTRONICS A0041537028 Boost Pressure Sensor is a high-precision automotive engine management component designed to measure intake manifold pressure in turbocharged and supercharged engines. By monitoring real-time manifold absolute pressure (MAP) and turbo boost levels, this sensor transmits accurate voltage signals to the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The ECU relies on this pressure data to optimize fuel injection timing, air-fuel ratio, and ignition timing, ensuring peak engine performance, fuel efficiency, and protection against over-boost conditions.

Package Includes
- REVELTRONICS A0041537028 Boost Pressure Sensor Unit
- Pre-Installed Rubber O-Ring Seal
Installation or Setup
- Park the vehicle on a flat surface, turn off the ignition, and allow the engine bay to cool down completely before starting work.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts or error codes during sensor replacement.
- Locate the existing boost pressure sensor on the intake manifold or charge air pipe.
- Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector by releasing its locking tab, then remove the mounting bolt holding the sensor in place.
- Gently pull the old sensor out, clean the mounting port area, insert the new REVELTRONICS sensor with a fresh lubricated O-ring seal, and tighten the securing bolt to factory torque specs.
- Reconnect the electrical harness connector until it clicks securely, re-attach the negative battery cable, and start the engine to test.
How to Use
- Once installed, the sensor operates automatically whenever the engine is running, feeding continuous pressure data to the vehicle ECU or aftermarket display gauge.
- Monitor engine boost performance using a diagnostic tool or boost gauge to confirm stable pressure readings under load.
- Perform periodic OBD-II diagnostic scans to ensure no manifold pressure fault codes (such as P0234 or P0236) are triggered.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Port Inspection: Inspect the sensor tip opening periodically to ensure oil sludge, carbon deposits, or blow-by residue do not block the pressure sensing port.
- Cleaning Method: If cleaning is needed, spray the tip gently with specialized mass air flow (MAF) or electronic cleaner and let it air dry completely; do not insert sharp tools into the sensor orifice.
- Wiring Care: Check the wiring harness and plug contacts for signs of heat wear, corrosion, or oil contamination to ensure uninterrupted electrical continuity.

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING – BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR
- Ir the boost pressure sensor rails, the ECl\I records a lYl’C into memory and continues to operate the engine in one or the three limp-in modes. \,\/hen the ECl\I is operating in this mode, a loss or power will be present, as if the turbocharger was not operating. The best method for diagnosing faults with the boost pressure sensor is with the DRB III® scan tool. Rerer to the Diesel t’owertrain Diagnostic _\lanual for more information.
- Refer to On-Board Diagnostics in Emissions Control System for a list of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) for certain ruel system components.

REMOVAL
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Unplug the electrical connector.
- Remove the sensor retaining bolts, remove the sensor and O- ring.

BOO
ST PRESSURE SENSOR
OPERATION
When the intake manifold pressure is low (high vacuum), sensor voltage output is 0.25-1 .8 volts at the ECU. \Vhen the intake manifold pressure is high due to turbo boost. sensor voltage output is 2 .o-4. 7 volts. The sensor receives a 5-volts reference from the ECU. Sensor ground is also provided by the ECU. The ECU uses boost pressure combined with intake

INSTALLATION
- Inspect boost pressure sensor O-ring for cuts or abrasions, replace as necessary.
BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR (Continued)
- Position the boost pressure sensor above access hole in the charge air pipe and push flown to fit flush (Fig. 3).
- Install the bolts and tighten to 44 lbs. in. (5 N-m) (Fig. 3 ).
- Reconnect the sensor electrical connector (Fig. 3).
- Connect negative battery cable
CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
DESCRIPTION
The carnsha ft position sensor is mounted on the cylinder head cover toward the rear of the engine. The camshaft sensor utilizes a non contact method on one segment of the camshaft to record the camshaft position. \\Then the EC1I receives the signal from this sensor. it can then detect TDC of cylinder number one. The signal from the camshaft sensor is only required during engine starting. lnjection timing is synchronized by means or the camshaft signal and the crankshaft signal.
Fig. 4 CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
OPERATION
On the camshart sensor’s signal line, a high signal correspons to a voltage of 11-14 V. Ir the segment machined into the exhaust camshaft sprocket is positioned opposite the camshaft sensor, the camshaft signal is low, approximately ov. Tt1is signal is used by the engine control module (EC1I) for detecting ignition TDC of cylinder l as the engine rotates. If no signal is supplied by the cam shaft position sensor, the vehicle will not start because cylinder order can not be detected (Fig. 4).

REMOVAL
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove engine cover
- Disconnect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector (Fig. 5).
- Remove the retaining bolt and remove sensor (Fig. 5).

INSTALLATION
- Inst a 11 ca ms haft posit ion sens or an fl t i gh ten bolt (Fig. 5 ).
- Reconnect electrical connector (Fig. 5).
- Install engine cover.
- Reconnect negative battery cable.
Safety Tips
- Never attempt to remove or inspect the boost sensor while the engine is hot or running.
- Do not use compressed air directly into the sensor pressure tip, as excessive PSI can rupture the internal diaphragm.
- Ensure the sealing O-ring is properly seated during installation to prevent boost leaks in the intake pipe.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
| Check engine light illuminated with boost fault code | Loose electrical harness plug or damaged sensor wiring | Inspect the wiring connector, ensure pins are clean, and re-seat the plug firmly |
| Lack of engine acceleration or erratic boost output | Carbon accumulation blocking the sensor pressure port | Remove sensor and clean the tip orifice gently using electronic contact cleaner |
| Air leak whistling sound around sensor mounting base | Missing or damaged O-ring seal allowing boost pressure leak |
Remove sensor, inspect the O-ring, and replace with a fresh seal before re-tightening |
