Product Usage Instructions
Xbox Series/One Console – Wired Connection:
- Turn the mode switch to Xbox/USB position.
- Connect the controller to your Xbox console via a USB cable.
- Wait for the controller to be recognized by the console; the LED indicator will stay solid upon successful connection.
Windows 10/11 – Wireless Connection
- Connect the 2.4G adapter to your Windows device.
- Turn the mode switch to PC/2.4G position.
- Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on.
- Wait for successful recognition by the device; both LED indicators should stay solid upon successful connection.
Android – Bluetooth Connection
- Turn the mode switch to Mobile/Bluetooth position.
- Press the Xbox button to turn on the controller.
- Hold the Pairing button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode; the LED indicator will blink rapidly.
- Pair with [8BitDo Ultimate 3mode Xbox] in your Android device’s Bluetooth list; LED indicator will stay solid upon successful connection.
Volume Control
To adjust in-game volume:
- Press and hold LSB for in-game volume down.
- Press and hold RSB for in-game volume up.
Fast Button Swap
To swap buttons quickly, repeat the same procedure or reconnect the controller to deactivate this function.
P1/P2 Button Configuration:
To configure P1/P2 buttons:
- To set configuration, press P1/P2 button along with Star button.
- To cancel configuration, press and hold [P1/P2 button + Star button].
Battery Status
The LED indicator on the controller displays battery status:
- Low battery
- Battery charging
- Battery fully charged
Product Overview
- Press the Xbox button to turn on the controller.
- Hold the Xbox button for 6 seconds to turn off the controller.
- Hold the Xbox button for 12 seconds to force the controller off.
Xbox Series/One console
- The latest system version of the Xbox console is required.
Wired Connection
- Turn the mode switch to Xbox/USB position.
- Connect the controller to your Xbox console via a USB cable and wait till the controller is successfully recognized by the console, the LED indicator will stay solid when the connection is successful.
Windows 10/11
- Windows 10(1903) or above is required.
Wireless Connection
- Connect the 2.4G adapter to your Windows device.
- Turn the mode switch to PC/2.4G position.

- Android 9.0 or above is required.

- Go to your Android device’s Bluetooth list and pair with [8BitDo Ultimate 3mode Xbox], the LED indicator will stay solid when the connection is successful.

Bluetooth connection
- Turn the mode switch to Mobile/Bluetooth position.
- Press the Xbox button to turn on the controller.
- Hold the Pairing button for 3 seconds to enter the pairing mode, the LED indicator will blink rapidly. (This is required for the very first time only.)
- Go to your Apple device’s Bluetooth list and pair with [8BitDo Ultimate 3mode Xbox], the LED indicator will stay solid when the connection is successful.
Volume Control
- Press and hold the following button combos to adjust the balance between voice and game volume.
- Beeps when adjusted to maximum/minimum, vibration when adjusted to middle value.
- 3.5mm earphones are not supported when connected via Bluetooth.
- Press and hold the Profile button + D-pad up/down to turn up/down in-game volume.
- Press and hold the Profile button + D-pad left/right to adjust the balance between voice and game volume.
Fast Button Swap
- The Fast Button Swap feature is temporary and will revert to default settings upon reconnection. For permanent button configuration, please use Ultimate Software X.
- The Profile LED indicator will blink continuously when the swapped button is pressed.
- Only the A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LSB and RSB buttons are supported for button swap.
- Press and hold any of the two buttons, then press the Star button to activate the Fast Button Swap. Repeat the same procedure or reconnect the controller will deactivate the function.
P1/P2 Button Configuration
- Only one button on the controller can be remapped to the P1/P2 button; remapping multiple buttons are not supported.
- Only the A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LSB and RSB buttons are supported for button swap.
- Press and hold [P1/P2 button + the button you wish to configure], then press the Star button to complete the configuration. To cancel, press and hold [P1/P2 button + Star button].
Battery
Built-in 1000mAh rechargeable lithium battery with 20 hours of play time over 2.4G connection and 25 hours over Bluetooth connection, with a charging time of 4 hours.
- The controller will automatically shut down if it fails to connect within 1 minute of startup, or if there are no operations within 15 minutes after establishing a connection.
- The controller will not shut down during wired connection.
Ultimate Software X
- Press the Profile button to activate, switch or deactivate the customized profiles. There is no profile in the default setting.

Re-pair the Controller and Adapter
If the connection is lost or the adapter needs to be re-paired, you can follow the steps below to re-pair the controller with the adapter:
- Turn the mode switch to PC/2.4G position.
- Connect the 2.4G adapter to your Windows device.
- Press the Xbox button to turn on the controller.
- Hold the Pairing button for 3 seconds to enter the pairing mode, the LED indicator will blink rapidly.
- Both LED indicators on the controller and receiver will become solid when the connection is successful.
