PeopleNet Connected Gateway – eDriver Logs ELD PCG001 User Manual

The PeopleNet eDriver Logs system is designed to automatically calculate compliance based on your duty status entries. To perform a split sleeper berth, you must manually change your duty status at the appropriate times:

• Step 1: When beginning your first rest period, select the Sleeper Berth (SB) status on your display.
• Step 2: After completing the first portion of your split (e.g., at least 2 or 3 hours depending on your specific regulations), change your status to Driving or On Duty as needed.
• Step 3: When beginning the second rest period (the remaining 7 or 8 hours to complete the 10-hour requirement), switch back to Sleeper Berth status.

The ELD software will automatically pair these qualifying periods to recalculate your available driving time. Please note that the specific rules (such as 8/2 or 7/3 splits) are governed by FMCSA regulations, and the device will reflect your available hours based on those legal requirements. If you do not see your hours update correctly, ensure both periods meet the minimum duration required by current HOS rules.
