  • Spare battery pack:
The backup battery can be used with 4 AA batteries with a voltage of 1.5V.

Notes

  • For optimal use time, it is recommended to charge the lithium battery pack before use. It can be charged with TYPE-C mobile phone charger. The current voltage is limited to 5V 2A. When the temperature is too low below 15°C/59°F, the power supply capacity of the lithium battery pack is low, and a backup battery pack needs to be installed.
  • When installing spare batteries, please do not mix old and new batteries! Do not use rechargeable lithium batteries or NiMH batteries. If you stay outside for a long time, you may be at risk of fire. Only 1.5V AA batteries are supported, 1.2V batteries are not supported. The diameter of the battery must be greater than 14mm, otherwise the battery will come loose.

System settings

Mode
Motion Detection: In standby mode (i.e. ON mode),the camera starts shooting or recording moving objects through PIR detection.

Note:
Please set the recording duration. For example, if the recording duration is set to 10 seconds, the camera will only record 10 seconds of motion detection video, even if the object in front is still moving.

  • Timing video: According to the “Photo or video”setting, the camera will take photo /videos /photo + video in the time interval you set in ON mode.
  • Timelapse video: The camera will take photos at the time interval you set. These photos will be formed to a video. For example: lf you want to observe the blooming process of flowers, you can use this function.

Note
When timing video and time lapse video modes are selected, motion detection PIR cannot be used.

Work Time
You can enable it to set a working period for the camera. lt will enter the standby mode if the time is not within the period. lf the start time is earlier than the current time, the setting will take effect the next day. lf the start time is later than the current time, the setting will take effect on the same day.

Photo or video
Three modes to choose from: “Photo/ video/ Photo + Video”. At the same time the camera also takes video or pictures according to the working mode (motion detection/timing/time lapse).

Photo Resolution
36MP / 48MP / 64MP
Select the photo resolution you desire. Higher resolutions provide better photo quality but also result in larger file sizes, which will occupy more space on your TF card.

Video Resolution
1080P / 2.7K / 4K
Higher video resolutions deliver better video quality but also create larger files, using more TF card capacity.

Multishot
This setting determines the number of photos taken in sequence each time the camera enters standby mode.

Recording Duration
Set the desired video recording duration for the camera to automatically record each time. It is best to set the video length to no more than 10 seconds to conserve battery life and minimize TF card storage usage.

PIR Sensitivity
The sensitivity of the PIR sensor is affected by ambient temperature changes. When the ambient temperature is high, the “High” setting is more suitable for capturing distant animals. The “Medium” or “Low” setting is more suitable in colder weather.

Note: Note: If the timelapse function is turned on, the PIR will not work.If the timelapse function is turned on, the PIR will not work.

Motion Filter
After activation, if the recording duration has not yet ended and no moving objects are detected in the monitored area, the recording will end prematurely.

Note
If the camera does not record or makes false/short recordings during night vision, you can turn off the motion filter

  • PIR Test
You can test the validity of the PIR function. After turning it on, place your hand in front of the sensor and shake it to see if a red light flashes and if the menu page displays the number of triggers. If both occur, the PIR function is working correctly.
  • WiFi LED
If you do not want the wireless indicator light to remain on, please turn it off in the system menu.
  • Loop Recording
Once activated, the TF card can record in a loop and automatically overwrite the oldest video when the card is full.
  • Format SD Card
When using the SD card for the first time, please format it first; otherwise, it may affect the camera’s performance. After formatting, all data on the card will be deleted. Please back up important data beforehand.
  • Password Protection
Set a protection password for the camera to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Factory Reset
Select “Confirm” to restore the camera system to factory settings, which will erase all saved settings.

Preparation before use

  1. Make sure that the camera is turned on (both TEST and ON modes can be connected).
  2. Ensure that your phone’s Bluetooth and WiFi functions are turned on.

App running for the first time
When the app runs for the first time, please ensure you allow all the system permissions it requires. This is very important, as permission issues may cause the camera to fail to connect and function properly.

Note
If the app is not functioning properly, please first check if there is an update available. Updating the app can resolve common issues and enhance its functionality.

How to add a new camera
After launching the app, the first interface you encounter is “My Devices.” This interface displays a list of all connected cameras.

  • The “Add New Camera” button is a “+” symbol located in the upper right corner.
  • Select the “Wi-Fi Camera” type in the subsequent interface.
  • In the third interface, ensure that the camera is turned on, then click the “Next” button.
  • In the following interface, the app will display the discovered devices and prompt you to click “Connect Camera”. After the connection begins, you will see the progress bar of the connection.

During this process, a system prompt will appear asking whether to connect to the camera’s hotspot. Please choose “Yes” or “Join” and continue until the connection is successful.

  • After a successful connection, you will see a “Set Alias” interface where you can name the camera. This name will be displayed in the camera list. You can also modify it later directly from the camera list. After these five steps, the process of adding a new camera is complete

CAMTURA-APP-0-1S-IP66-Solar-Trail-Camera- (9)

Some useful function buttons
After successfully adding a new camera, the app will return to the “My Devices” interface where you can see the list of devices you added. There is a “Map” button at the bottom of this interface, which allows you to set the coordinates for all your cameras on the map.

Camera control
Select the camera to be connected, and the interface will display the status information for this device. At the bottom of the app, there are four main function buttons: “Camera,” “Gallery,” “Status,” and “Settings,” which you can choose according to your needs.

Tips

  •  If the camera is not using the camera’s hotspot for an extended period, or if the app exits, the camera will automatically turn off the WiFi function to save energy. It will need to be reconnected when used again.
  • The “Camera,” “Gallery,” and “Settings” functions require a live connection to the camera to operate properly.

Assembly with strap
Use the securing strap supplied to attach the Wildlife Camera to a tree or another object. The illustrations below demonstrate how to fasten the securing strap. Position the Wildlife Camera as desired and pull the loose end of the securing strap tight until the camera is firmly secured.
To release the securing strap again, pull at the tab of the securing strap.

Setup the camera outdoor

Once all the setting has been done, the camera is ready for use:

  • Mount the camera about 0.5-2m high with the camera pointed at a slight downward angle.
  • Keep the camera facing north or south NOT east or west due to sunrise and sunset could produce false triggers and overexposed images.
  • Clear all obstructions in front of camera to avoid obscuring camera lens or PIR sensor.Otherwise, the camera may be triggered by mistake during windy or hot days.
  • In order to avoid false triggers, you should adjust PIR sensitivity depend on the object or wild animals;size, the speed and distance of the movement.
  • Insert a Micro SD storage card (Class 10/U1 Micro SD card, exFAT).
  • Make sure that time and date is correct.
  • Make sure that the camera’s mode switch is “ON” mode(before you leave).

Solar panel setup
Try to install the camera in a location where sunlight can directly illuminate the solar panel, to ensure that the built-in lithium battery can be charged well during the day. During the day, after installing the camera, you can observe whether the red charging indicator light next to the camera TYPE-C is on. If it is on, it indicates that this position can ensure the charging of the solar panel. If the charging indicator light is not on, it needs to be replaced.CAMTURA-APP-0-1S-IP66-Solar-Trail-Camera- (14)

Frequently Asked Questions

After I connect the camera to the mobile app, why does it not record video if there is an object moving in front of the lens?

This is normal. The PIR of the camera only works in standby mode. It does not work when connected wirelessly to the App. At this time, the camera can only be used to set parameters and watch real-time images and play backs.
