To open the umbrella, locate the crank handle on the main pole. Rotate the handle clockwise to smoothly extend the canopy until it is fully open. Do not force the mechanism.

To close the umbrella, rotate the crank handle counter-clockwise until the canopy is fully retracted and secured. It is recommended to secure the closed canopy with a tie strap if available (not included) to prevent it from unfurling in windy conditions.
