1. Introduction
Welcome to the user manual for your new HUAWEI P20 Lite smartphone. This guide provides essential information to help you get started, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot your device. 2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully unbox your HUAWEI P20 Lite. Ensure all components are present: the smartphone, charger, USB cable, and SIM ejector tool. Inspect the device for any physical damage before proceeding.
2.2 Inserting the SIM Card and MicroSD Card
Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your device. Use the provided SIM ejector tool to open the tray. Insert your Nano-SIM card(s) and/or a MicroSD card into the designated slots. Ensure the cards are correctly oriented as indicated on the tray. Gently push the tray back into the device until it clicks into place.

2.3 Powering On and Initial Configuration
Press and hold the Power button (located on the right side of the device) until the HUAWEI logo appears. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup:
- Select your language and region.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Accept the End User License Agreement.
- Sign in with your Google account or create a new one.
- Set up screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint).
3. Operating Your Device
3.1 Basic Navigation
The HUAWEI P20 Lite features a responsive touchscreen. Use gestures such as tap, swipe, pinch-to-zoom, and long-press to navigate the interface. The physical buttons include the Power button and Volume Up/Down buttons.
3.2 Making Calls and Sending Messages
- Calls: Open the Phone app, enter the number, and tap the call icon.
- Messages: Open the Messages app, tap to start a new conversation, enter the recipient's number or select from contacts, and type your message.
3.3 Using the Camera
The HUAWEI P20 Lite is equipped with a 16MP + 2MP dual rear camera. Open the Camera app from your home screen or app drawer. Tap the shutter button to take photos. Swipe left or right to switch between different modes like Photo, Video, Portrait, and Pro. The front camera is ideal for selfies and video calls.

3.4 Connectivity
- Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi to connect to available networks.
- Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Device connection > Bluetooth to pair with other Bluetooth devices.
- Mobile Data: Ensure mobile data is enabled in your Quick Settings or Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile network.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning Your Device
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and body of your phone. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner designed for electronics.
4.2 Software Updates
Regularly check for system updates to ensure your device has the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements. Go to Settings > System > Software update.
4.3 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures. Charge your device using the original charger and cable. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. The device uses a Lithium Polymer battery.
4.4 Storage Management
Your device comes with 64 GB of internal storage. To manage storage, regularly clear cache, uninstall unused apps, and move large files (like photos and videos) to a MicroSD card or cloud storage. Go to Settings > Storage.
5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Device Not Turning On
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power on.
- Press and hold the Power button for at least 10-15 seconds to force a restart.
