When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following important information. GENERAL SAFETY 1. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Keep cord out of reach of children. This appliance is not a toy. DO NOT allow children to play with it. 2. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 3. This appliance is for household use only. DO NOT use this appliance for anything other than its intended use. DO NOT use in moving vehicles or boats. DO NOT USE OUTDOORS. 4. Unplug appliance from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning or attempting to move the appliance. 5. Always make sure the unit is properly and completely assembled before connecting to power outlet and operating. 6. DO NOT fill water reservoir above max fill line or use distilled water, milk, or other liquids. 7. DO NOT run a brew cycle without water. This can cause damage to the unit and cause malfunction. 8. Use coffee maker in upright position only. Allow unit to cool completely prior to moving it or turning it in any position other than upright. WARNING: The avoid the risk of injury, do not open the Pod Brew Area during a brew cycle. ELECTRICAL SAFETY 9. To protect against fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons, DO NOT immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid. 10. Regularly inspect the power cord, plug, and actual appliance for any damage. 2 11. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,or is dropped or damaged in any manner. A short power-supply cord (or detached power-supply cord) is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. 14. Longer detachable powersupply cord or extension cord may be purchased and used if care is exercised in their use. 15. If an extension cord or longer detachable power cord is used: (a) The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance. (b) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a groundingtype 3-wire cord. (c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. 16. DO NOT let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or countertop. 17. DO NOT let the power cord touch hot surfaces, or become knotted or tangled. 18. To disconnect the Brew button at any time, remove the plug from the wall outlet. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, never remove the bottom cover of the coffee maker, there are no userserviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized service personnel only. HEAT SAFETY 19. Ensure that the surface where the appliance operates is stable, level, clean, and dry. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. WARNING: Always make sure your mug or travel mug is positioned properly to accept the dispensed hot liquid. Overflow can lead to scalding hazards. 20. Scalding may occur if the Pod Brew Area is opened during the brewing process. 21. Never put your hands directly on hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Care must be taken, as burns can occur from touching hot parts or from spilled, hot liquid. 3 22. Any significant spillage onto the surface under or around the appliance, or onto the appliance itself, should be cleaned and dried before continuing to use the appliance. DURING BREWING: The liquid coming out of the coffee spout will be HOT. USE CAUTION when touching the coffee maker. Avoid putting your hands beneath the coffee spout and always make sure your mug or travel mug is positioned properly to accept the dispensed hot liquid. POD SAFETY 23. WARNING: Used *K-Cup® and **Nespresso® pods should be removed from the coffee maker after each brew cycle. (a) Only use *Keurig® *K-Cup® pods in the left inlet opening in the Pod Brew Area. There is an icon to indicate that this is the *K-Cup® side. The use of non-*K-Cup® pods may cause brewer malfunction or injury. (b) Only use **Nespresso® Original Line pods in the right inlet opening in the Pod Brew Area. There is an icon to indicate that this is the **Nespresso® side. The use of non-**Nespresso® pods may cause brewer malfunction or injury. (c) There are sharp needles that puncture the *K-Cup® and **Nespresso® pods. To avoid risk of injury, be aware of the needle locations. Never stick your fingers in the left or right pod openings. 24. Never attempt to use an already used, damaged, or deformed pod. 25. If a pod is blocked in the brew area, turn off the brewer and unplug it before continuing operation. Call our authorized representative for assistance. 26. Only use pods intended for this brewer (*K-Cup®pods and/or **Nespresso®Original Line pods). 27. If a pod does not fit, NEVER attempt to force the pod into the Pod Brew Area. Remove and safely discard any packaging material or promotional labels before using this appliance for the first time. 29. To eliminate a choking hazard for young children, remove and safely discard the protective cover fitted to the power plug of this appliance. 30. Keep the appliance clean. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY 5 ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS NOTES ON THE PLUG This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. UNPACK Open the box and remove the appliance with its various components, placing all parts on a flat, level, and dry heat-resistant surface. Remove and/or discard any packaging material, promotional labels, and tape from the unit. 2. CLEAN Immerse the Water Reservoir, Espresso Cup Platform and Pod Disposal Basket, and Mug Platform with Drip Tray Plate in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Clean the outside of the Unit Base with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners on the Unit Base. WARNING: Never submerge the Unit Base in water or any other liquid. ASSEMBLY 1. Plug in the unit. Insert the power cord into an electrical outlet, then press the Power Button to power the unit on. After power on, press the power button and the power button light flashes until the preheat is complete. Boost Brew 2. Slide the Mug Platform into the bottom front of the Unit Base. Place the Drip Tray Plate on top of the Mug Platform. This part helps to catch excess drips from the coffee spout to avoid messes. 8 3. Fill the Water Reservoir. Before brewing, ensure there's enough water in the Water Reservoir. WARNING: Be careful not to overfill the Water Reservoir. NOTE: When the water in the reservoir is less than 12oz, the blue water droplet will illuminate and flash on the Control Panel. If this happens in mid-brew cycle, do not operate on the button and add water immediately. INITIAL CLEANING CYCLE Before indulging in your first brew, be sure to run an initial cleaning cycle through your brewer. NOTE: This initial cleansing brew cycle may take a few minutes longer than an average brew cycle, as the brewer is just heating up for the first time. 1. Make sure the Pod Brew Area is completely shut. To secure, pull the Top Lid Handle down until the lid is tightly fastened. Do not insert a *K-Cup® or **NESPRESSO® pod. 2. Place a cup on the Mug Platform beneath the coffee spout. 3. BREWING WITH A *K-CUP®POD: Select maximum brewing capacity button on the left side of the control panel, then push the Brew Button to begin your cleaning brew cycle. 4. BREWING WITH A **NESPRESSO® POD: Select maximum brewing capacity button on the right side of the control panel, then push the Brew button to begin your cleansing brew cycle. 5. Before brewing, ensure there's enough water in the Water Reservoir. When the Water Reservoir is less than 12oz, there will be a water shortage alarm to remind, and other buttons do not work except for the Power button. WARNING: Be careful not to overfill the Water Reservoir. NOTE: When the water in the reservoir is less than 12oz, the blue water droplet will illumi- nate and flash on the Control Panel. If this happens in mid-brew cycle, do not operate on the button and add water immediately. 2. Place your cup on top of one of the brewing platforms. Your brewer has three cup platforms -- one suited for a small espresso cup, one suited for a medium-sized mug, and one suited for a travel mug. 3. Access the Pod Brew Area. Place your hands on the Top Ring Handle and pull up until the lid is fully open (see Fig.1). This will give you access to where you'll insert your *K-Cup®and **Nespresso® pods. 4. Insert a *K-Cup® pod into the left side of the Pod Brew Area (see Fig.2). Inside the Pod Brew Area, there are two inlets of different shapes, sideby-side. The left inlet fits a *K-Cup® pod, while the right inlet fits a **Nespresso® pod. Each side is designed to fit only one type of pod. 5. Close the Pod Brew Area. Pull the Top Ring Handle down to close (see Fig.3). Once secured, it will click. The unit will not begin the brew cycle unless this lid is fully closed. NOTE: After the machine has warmed up, all icon and coffee brew size buttons will illumi- nate white. 6. Select the icon on the left that matches your desired brew amount - small, medium and large cup icons, corresponding to 8, 10 and 12oz. NOTE: Which cup amount is selected, the corresponding button light turns blue, the same capsule type, only the last selected button light blue. 7. Press the Brew Button to begin brewing. To cancel brewing at any time, push the Brew Button again. The machine will alert you the brew cycle has been cancelled. NOTE: Unit will not operate unless a brew size is selected and the lid of the Pod Brew Area is fully closed and locked. 8. Coffee maker will alert you when the brew cycle is complete. Remove your mug and enjoy! NOTE: Remember to dispose of any used pods left in the Pod Brew Area after each brew cycle. *K-Cup® pods can be recycled. The unit will not begin the brew cycle unless this lid is fully closed. NOTE: After the machine has warmed up, all icon and coffee brew size buttons will illuminate white. This will display 3 espresso brewing mode - RistrettoEspressoLungo. 6. Select the icon on the right that matches your desired espresso brewing mode - Ristretto, Espresso, Lungo. NOTE: Which cup amount is selected, the corresponding button light turns blue, the same capsule type, only the last selected button light blue. 7. Press the Brew Button to begin brewing. To cancel brewing at any time, push the Brew Button again. The machine will alert you the brew cycle has been cancelled. Coffee maker will alert you when the brew cycle is complete. Remove your mug and enjoy! NOTE: Remember to dispose of any used pods left in the Pod Brew Area after each brew cycle. After the brewing of espresso, the **Nespresso® pod will automatically fall into the Pod Disposal Basket after open the lid. Please take it out and discard it in time (see Fig.8). When activated, Boost will illuminate on the Control Panel. 1. Fill the Water Reservoir. Before brewing, ensure there's enough water in the Water Reservoir. When the Water Reservoir is less than 12oz, there will be a water shortage alarm to remind, and other buttons do not work except for the Power button. WARNING: Be careful not to overfill the Water Reservoir. NOTE: When the water in the reservoir is less than 12oz, the blue water droplet will illuminate and flash on the Control Panel. If this happens in mid-brew cycle, do not operate on the button and add water immediately. 2. Lift the handle and open the top lid (see Fig.1),insert a *K-Cup® pod (see Fig.2) and a **Nespresso® pod (see Fig.6) of the Pod Brew Area, then press the handle down to close the top lid (See Fig.7). Inside the Pod Brew Area, there are two inlets of different shapes, sideby-side. The left inlet fits a *K-Cup® pod, while the right inlet fits a **Nespresso® pod. To brew a cup of coffee, insert a *K-Cup® into the left inlet making sure to secure it firmly in place. 3. After the machine has warmed up, all icon and coffee brew size buttons will illuminate white. Select the *K-Cup® brew size you want first then select the **Nespresso®Pod brew size. The corresponding will light up, and then press the Brew button to brew the coffee in order. NOTES: Which cup amount is selected, the corresponding button light turns blue, the same capsule type, only the last selected button light blue. 4. Firstly, the *K-Cup® capsule brewing system is activated and the desired amount of coffee is brewed. And then the **Nespresso® capsule brewing system is activated and the desired amount of coffee is brewed. The corresponding indicator of the selected cup size will flash in blue during brewing process. Use of the Nespresso® trademark does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by Societe des Produits Nestle S.A. or Nestlé Nespresso S.A. 15 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BREW TYPE & BREW SIZE · If the *K-Cup® Pod Icon on the left side is illuminated, you're brewing coffee. · If the **Nespresso® Pod Icon on the right side is illuminated, you're brewing espresso. You must select a brew size. The unit will not brew until you push the button for the size you desire. When your water reservoir is completely empty, the blue water droplet will illuminate and flash on the control panel. NOTE: This can happen mid-brew cycle. If this icon appears, add water immediately. The unit will not brew unless it has water in the reservoir. Once you add water, the Water Drop Icon will turn off. WARNING: DO NOT attempt to run a brew cycle if blue Water Drop Icon is on. Auto Shutoff: If the device is not brewing and has been inactive for 20 minutes, it will automatically turn off. Turn Power Off And Unplug When Done: We recommend turning device power off and unplugging the unit when the machine is not in use. WATER QUALITY · Water quality can vary depending on your location and what kind of water you use. · If you experience a strange or unpleasant taste (such as chlorine or mineral tastes), try using bottled water or filtered water. · DO NOT use distilled water. TIPE & TRICKS · Brew a stronger, more concentrated cup of coffee by selecting a smaller pod size, like 8 or 10oz. · Always fill your Water Reservoir with fresh filtered water. The better the quality of your water, the better tasting your coffee will be. · Recycle or compost your used pods. Unplug the unit from the outlet and allow to cool completely before cleaning. 2. To clean the Unit Base, Water Reservoir, Espresso Platform + Pod Disposal Basket, Mug Platform + Drip Tray Plate, and Control Panel, wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid scrubbing with harsh or abrasive cleaners to protect the exterior. CAUTION: The Unit Base should only be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge. Never place the unit in the dishwasher or submerge in water or any other liquid. HOW TO STORE · Before storing or moving the unit, make sure to first turn it off, unplug it, and empty the Water Reservoir. · Make sure to store your device in a safe, dry and frost-free environment. · Store unit upright to avoid potential water leakage. · Any water in unit could potentially freeze if stored in a cold environment. · If you are about to use the unit after a lengthy storage period, rinse the water reservoir with fresh water before operation. · If the unit was stored in a below-freezing setting, allow the unit to warm up to room temperature for a minimum of 2 hours before operating. · Make sure unit is off and has cooled to room temperature before storing. TROUBLESHOOTING Brew will not start. · Plug the brewer into an electrical outlet of the appropriate voltage. If the circuit is overloaded, the brewer may not function properly. · The brewer should be operated on its own circuit, separate from other appliances. · Check to ensure that there is not less than 12oz of water in the reservoir. · The brewer may need to run a cleaning cycle. · For energy savings, the brewer automatically turns off 90 seconds after the last brew. Press the power button to restart. · Press and hold the "8oz" and "10oz" buttons at the bottom of the panel simultaneously to start the forced descaling program. · If the brewer still doesn't have power, contact Customer Service at support@vimukun.com. 17 There are grounds in my coffee. · Grounds may have gathered in the exit or entrance needles and can be cleaned using a straightened paper clip or similar tool. · Finely ground coffee can clog the filter basket. For best brewing results, use a medium-grind coffee. · Using too many grounds can cause the filter basket to overflow. Once cooled, clean out the filter basket and refill using the appropriate amount of coffee. Coffee maker lid won't stay on. · The K-Cup was not poked by the pin at the bottom. · The filter basket is not placed in the correct position. · There is a foreign object stuck in the top cover that prevents it from closing properly.
