Installation
Before installation, check that your filter basket is assembled correctly, with the spring wedged firmly at the bottom of the filter basket.
- Place the Machine on a firm and horizontal surface with adequate space for filling the water tank.
- Plug the machine into a 110-120V~ power outlet.
- Place an empty glass decanter at the correct position under the filter basket.
- Pour cold water (no more than 2 liters) into the water reservoir and wait for 2 minutes to allow water to force air out of the machine.
- Turn the switch ON; the "In Use" indicator light will illuminate.
- Hot water should start to flow into the glass decanter.
- After 4-5 minutes, the "In Use" indicator will turn off, signifying the brewing process has ended.
- Repeat the above process twice to clean the internal parts of the machine before brewing coffee for the first time.
- During this initial operation, it is normal to hear brewing and pumping sounds and see water vapor.
[warning] In case of incorrect operation or overflow, immediately TURN-OFF the switch to STOP the procedure.
Operation
- Place a filter paper into the filter basket and add the appropriate amount of coffee. Consult your coffee supplier for yield information.
- Slide the filter basket into position.
- Place the empty decanter (Pot or Airpot) at the correct position under the filter basket.
- Pour 1 full glass decanter of cold water into the water reservoir.
- Turn the switch ON; the "Indicator" light will illuminate.
- Brewed coffee will start to flow into the glass decanter.
- When the "Indicator" light turns off, the brewing cycle is complete.
- Dispose of used coffee grounds and filter paper. Rinse the filter basket in clean water. The unit is now ready for another brew.
[caution] The Hot plate is designed to keep coffee decanters warm only. Do not place empty decanters or other thermoses on it.
[warning] The coffee maker must not be cleaned by a water jet.
If the unit will not be used for some time, or if the machine needs to be removed, pour out any remaining water from the hoses and boiler and clean it for storage.
[caution] Keep away from water sprayed/spraying area.
[caution] Remain in the vicinity of the machine while machine is in operation.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
It is important to keep the Machine and its accessories clean after use. For dirt or smudges, use a soft damp cloth and, if necessary, a non-corrosive and/or non-abrasive detergent or cleaner.
De-sediments:
Hard water can cause chalk and limestone buildup in the water boiler. To maintain optimal condition and ensure the best taste, a de-sediment operation is recommended every 200 brews or 6 months.
De-sediments Procedure:
- Add 300 ml fresh lemon juice or condensed lemon juice to 1 liter of water.
- Slide the filter pan into position.
- Place an empty pot at the correct position under the filter pan.
- Pour the lemon juice solution into the water reservoir.
- Turn the switch ON.
- Hot water will drip into the jug. When the lemon juice solution has pushed out remaining water and some solution starts to drip into the jug, turn the switch OFF.
- Wait for 5-6 minutes to allow the solution to run through with sediments, then turn the switch ON again.
- When the lemon juice solution stops dripping, set the switch OFF and flush the solution away.
- Since some lemon juice solution may remain, run brewing cycles with water only until there is no taste or smell of lemon juice in the hot water.
[caution] Due to potential lime buildup, it is suggested to perform De-sediments at least once a month.
[caution] If the unit stops working (no power) suddenly during operation, but becomes workable again after cooling down, it may be due to lime buildup. Run the De-sediment process.
[caution] If the thermostat reaction is caused by lime buildup, press down and click the thermostat before de-scaling or the next operation.
