Product Overview
The Coolon Lonsdale is an outdoor LED luminaire designed for architectural lighting applications. This document provides installation instructions for the Lonsdale series.
Dimensions
The top cap of the Lonsdale luminaire is typically white, and the base is typically grey. The base can be painted to match the specification of the light pole.
The maximum installation height is standard 4-6 metres, or up to 20 metres with the use of longer cable.

Drivers & Power Supply Units (PSUs)
The Lonsdale series utilizes RDM CV NEO drivers, specifically the DRV-RDM CV NEO-RJ45F-OJ5-IP65 model.
RJ45F CAT5 Ethernet Female Connector Pinout:

OJ5 Outdoor Joiner 5 Pin:
- CH1: Red

Power Supply Units:
- 60W Power Supply:
Features a 300±20mm cable with a Ø4.2mm diameter. The unit length is 171mm.
- 150W Power Supply:
Features a 300±20mm cable with a Ø4.2mm diameter. The unit length is 228mm.
Installation Steps
STEP 1: Pole Mounting
Fit the Lonsdale pole over the spigot and ensure the cable is fed through carefully to avoid any damage.
Recommended Spigot Size:
- NPS 2½ / DN 65
- Outer Diameter (Ø): 73mm
- Minimum Length: 190mm
A riser of NPS 3½ / DN 90 will match the luminaire's outer diameter.
The installer should grip the assembly from the base.

STEP 2: Securing the Luminaire
Secure the luminaire using two M6 set-screws and one M10 set-screw. Tighten these screws with a torque of 8-9 Nm. All three screws must be fully tightened.
STEP 3: Wiring
Wire up the luminaire according to the wiring diagram provided on the next page (or in the subsequent section).
Wiring Diagram and Notes
DMX Controller Wiring (ESTA E1.11-2004 PINOUT):
- Pin 1: DMX+
- Pin 2: DMX-
- Pin 7: GND
- Pin 8: GND
Wiring Diagram Description: A DMX controller connects via RJ45 to a series of power supplies. Each power supply then connects to the luminaire. The DMX controller outputs DMX+, DMX-, and GND. The power supplies receive Mains input and output to the luminaire via specific color-coded channels (CH1-Red, CH2-Green, CH3-Blue, CH4-White) and Common (Black).
Important Notes:
- NOTE 1: The maximum overall distance from the power supply to the luminaire must not exceed 20 metres if AWG13 or 1.83mm² cable is used. Luminaire cable (5 Core) is typically supplied at 4 metres; for longer cables, please advise Coolon at procurement stages.
- NOTE 2: Cool DMX or any other standard DMX/RDM controller can be used with the Lonsdale system.
- NOTE 3: Typical CAT5/CAT6 outdoor circular cable, supplied by others, can be used. The maximum distance from the DMX control unit to the last RDM/DMX driver in a typical daisy chain topology is 300 metres.
- NOTE 4: The installer must ensure the fitment of the RDM and PSU, considering their physical dimensions and appropriate location relative to the luminaire.
