2. ข้อมูลด้านความปลอดภัย

  • Do not break or remove the tamper seal until a fire emergency occurs.
  • ห้ามใช้ในทางที่ผิดหรือปล่อยให้เด็กเล่นกับถังดับเพลิง
  • Do not test the extinguisher. Any discharge will cause pressure loss, rendering the unit unusable.
  • The fire extinguishing agent (monoammonium phosphate) is non-toxic but may cause skin irritation. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for more information.
  • This is a residential, single-use only extinguisher. It must be discarded and replaced if used, discharged, dropped, damaged, dented, or corroded.
  • For non-rechargeable extinguishers, the unit must be removed from service 12 years after the manufacture date, which is located on the bottom of the cylinder.

3. การตั้งค่า

Proper placement of your fire extinguisher is crucial for quick access during an emergency. It is recommended to have at least one fire extinguisher for every 600 square feet of living space, placed within easy reach on every level of your home where fires are more likely to start, such as kitchens, garages, and utility rooms.

Mounting the Extinguisher

The Kidde FA110G comes with a UL-approved plastic strap bracket for easy mounting. Choose a location that is easily accessible, visible, and away from potential fire hazards.

  1. Select a suitable wall location, ensuring it is secure and can support the weight of the extinguisher.
  2. Use appropriate fasteners (not included) to attach the mounting bracket to the wall.
  3. Place the fire extinguisher into the bracket, ensuring it is held securely. The strap should wrap around the cylinder to prevent accidental dislodgement.

4. Operating Instructions (P.A.S.S. Method)

In the event of a fire, remember the P.A.S.S. method for effective fire extinguisher operation:

  1. Pull the Pin: Hold the extinguisher upright. Pull the safety pin located at the top of the extinguisher.
  2. Aim at the Base of the Fire: Stand approximately 6 feet (1.83 meters) from the fire. Aim the nozzle at the base of the flames, not at the flames themselves.
  3. Squeeze and Hold the Lever: Squeeze the operating lever to discharge the extinguishing agent.
  4. Sweep Side to Side: While maintaining aim at the base of the fire, sweep the nozzle from side to side until the fire is extinguished.

The discharge time for this extinguisher is approximately 8 to 10 seconds. Ensure you have a clear escape path and call emergency services immediately, even if the fire appears to be out.

5. การบำรุงรักษา

Regular inspection and maintenance are essential to ensure your fire extinguisher is ready for use when needed.

Checking the Pressure Indicator

Check the pressure indicator monthly or more frequently if exposed to weather or vandalism. The indicator pointer should be in the green area, indicating it is properly charged. If the pointer is not in the green area, the extinguisher will not work properly and must be discarded and replaced.

การตรวจสอบทั่วไป

  • Examine the nozzle for obstructions.
  • Check that the ring pull pin and tamper seal are intact.
  • Heft or weigh the extinguisher to ensure it is within tolerance (refer to specifications).
  • Discard and replace the extinguisher if it is dropped, damaged, dented, corroded, or shows any discrepancy.

อายุการใช้งาน

Per NFPA-10, non-rechargeable extinguishers must be removed from service 12 years after the manufacture date on the bottom of the cylinder, regardless of whether they have been used or not.

6 การแก้ไขปัญหา

If your Kidde FA110G fire extinguisher is not functioning as expected, first ensure the safety pin is removed and the lever is fully squeezed. If the pressure gauge is not in the green zone, the unit is not properly charged and must be replaced. If the nozzle is obstructed, clear any debris. For any other issues or if the extinguisher has been discharged, it must be replaced immediately. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself.
