CloudKey+

The Ubiquiti CloudKey+ is a versatile device for managing UniFi networks. This guide outlines the initial setup and connection process.

Step 1: Network Connection

Connect your CloudKey+ to your network. There are two primary connection methods:

Method A: PoE Connection

This method uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) for both data and power.

  • [Internet]: Connect your internet source to the [Gateway].
  • [Gateway]: Connect the [Gateway] to your [Switching] infrastructure.
  • [Switching]: Connect your network switch.
  • [PoE Power]: Power the CloudKey+ using a PoE-enabled port on your switch.
  • CloudKey+: Connect the CloudKey+ to the network.

Method B: USB-C Power Connection

This method uses a standard network connection and USB-C for power.

  • [Internet]: Connect your internet source to the [Gateway].
  • [Gateway]: Connect the [Gateway] to your [Switching] infrastructure.
  • [Switching]: Connect your network switch.
  • [USB-C Power]: Power the CloudKey+ using a USB-C power adapter (compatible with Quick Charge 2.0/3.0).
  • CloudKey+: Connect the CloudKey+ to the network.

Step 2: Download the UniFi Application

To manage your CloudKey+, download the UniFi application on your mobile device:

Step 3: Bluetooth Setup

Pair your CloudKey+ with your mobile device using Bluetooth:

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
  2. Open the UniFi application.
  3. The application will detect the CloudKey+ via [Bluetooth Connection]. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup and connect the CloudKey+ to your network.
