Description
The nero ultrasonic sensors are available in an M18 plastic sleeve. In addition to the axial beam direction variant, there is also a housing variant with a 90° angled head and radial beam direction. The ultrasonic proximity switches detect contactless and reliable objects with four detection ranges from 20 mm to 1.3 m.
Nero Sensor Family
Supports 2 output types and 4 detection ranges:
- 1 switching output with pnp or npn switching technology
- 1 analog output 4–20 mA or 0–10 V
Sensors with discrete output have three operating modes:
- Single switching point
- Bidirectional reflective barrier
- Window mode
Teach-in for single discrete output
Follow these steps:
- Position the detection object at the desired distance.
- Apply +UB to pin 2 for approximately 3 seconds.
- Then apply +UB to pin 2 again for 1 second.

Teach-in for bidirectional reflective barrier
Follow these steps:
- Apply +UB to pin 2 for approximately 3 seconds.
- Then apply +UB to pin 2 again for approximately 10 seconds.
Diagram: Illustration of the teach-in process for a bidirectional reflective barrier, showing the sensor emitting a signal and a reflector returning it.
For window configuration
Follow these steps:
- Position the object at the near window edge (1).
- Apply +UB to pin 2 for approximately 3 seconds.
- Then place the object at the far window edge (2).
- Then apply +UB to pin 2 again for 1 second.

NC/NO contacts
Analog signal increase/decrease can be selected via pin 2.
Indicators
Green and yellow LEDs indicate the status of the discrete output and teach-in support.
