STEP (.step/.stp) is an ISO 10303 CAD exchange format for sharing exact 3D geometry (B-Rep), assemblies, and metadata between CAD systems.

Why does STEP take longer to load than STL?

STEP stores exact CAD solids/surfaces and must be tessellated (triangulated) into a renderable mesh. STL already contains triangles.

Browsers enforce CORS. The host serving the .stp/.step file must allow cross-origin requests (Access-Control-Allow-Origin) or you will need to download the file and upload it here.
