Installation
Use hooks and ties to hang the string lights:
- Use hooks to hang the cable.
- Use ties to hang the bulbs.
Controlling String Lights in Series
Connect 2 strings of lights in a series, as shown in the image provided in the manual. Remember, only 65 bulbs can be connected in a series.
Pairing Your String Light with the XMcosy APP
- Long press the button on the adapter for 5-10 seconds to enter pairing state (quick flash).
- Open the XMcosy app and tap the + icon to add the device.
- Select a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and enter the correct password. Click Next.
- Wait for the device to finish adding and click Done to complete the pairing process.
Alexa / Google Assistant Pairing Instructions
Follow the steps in the manual to bind the XMcosy App to Alexa or Google Home App for voice control.

- Customize the color of each bulb.
- Create dynamic lighting effects with preset scenes.
- Sync lights with music using the smartphone’s mic.
- Schedule auto-turn on/off with the Plan feature.
- Share the device with others and create a Group for multiple string light control.
- Use voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant to control it.
Safety Information
Read and follow all the safety instructions:
- This product is rated as IP65 Waterproof. It can be used outdoors but cannot be immersed in water.
- Risk of Electric Shock. Install the adapter to a covered
- Class A GFCI receptacle that has an enclosure that is weatherproof with the attachment plug cap inserted or removed.
- Make sure to unplug the smart string lights during installation.
- Do not allow children to assemble and install this product without adult supervision.
- Avoid installing this product near major heat sources.
- Use this product with the provided power adapter only.
Introduction
Thank you for choosing XMcosy Smart String Light. This product requires pairing with the XMcosy app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for daily use. Through the app, you can adjust its color and brightness, customize lighting effects, sync the lights with the music rhythm, set the timer to turn on or off automatically, etc. (Please note that only 2.4G Wi-Fi pairing/connection supports all the smart features.)

Pairing Your String Light with the XMcosy APP
Adapter Instruction
- Short press to turn the light on or off.
- Long press for 5-10 seconds to enter pairing blinking state or reset.
What You Need:
- A Wi-Fi router supports the 2.4GHz band. 5GHz is not supported.
- A smartphone or tablet running IOS or Android.
- Download the latest XMcosy App from the App Store(IOS devices) or Google Play(Android devices).
- Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth, WLAN, Cellular(Mobile data), and Location(while using the app) and allow the XMcosy app to use them.
- Keep your phone near the adapter while connecting, within Bluetooth or Wi-Fi coverage.
Notes
- After the light is successfully paired to the App via 2.4G Wi-Fi, you can control it via the app at any time, regardless of whether the phone is using 5G Wi-Fi or only Cellular (Mobile data).
- If no 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you can just use Bluetooth and Cellular (Mobile data) to pair with the App. Please know that the Bluetooth connection range is within 30 feet.
Pairing Steps
- Long press the button on the adapter for 5-10 seconds to enter pairing state (quickly flash).
- Open the app, tap the “+” icon in the top right corner, and a device icon will pop up automatically. Then click the “Add” and the “+” button.
- Select a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and enter the correct password (case-sensitive). Then click “Next”. (If you do not have Wi-Fi in use, you can click “Skip” to pair via Bluetooth. Note that Bluetooth connections CANNOT use some smart features.)
- Wait for the device to finish adding, then click “Done”. The device can now be controlled.
Alexa / Google Assistant Pairing Instructions
- After the string light is successfully paired with the XMcosy App, click the icon
in the upper right corner of the control page to enter the setting page. - Select the corresponding device and follow the steps on the screen to bind the XMcosy App to the “Alexa” or “Google Home” App.
APP Functions
First, enter the actual number of bulbs connected to a single adapter.
Set each light bulb to your color.
DIY dynamic lighting with multiple preset scenes for holidays/parties/events.
Music sync mode via the smartphone’s mic.
Use “Plan” to set lights to auto-turn on/off at the time you want.- “Share Device” to others and “Create Group” to control multiple string lights.
Voice commands: Alexa or Google Assistant to turn on/off, adjust brightness, color, etc.

Troubleshooting

• Network is 5.0GHz • Used in a place without 2.4GHz WiFi • Does not want to connect to 2.4GHz WiFi | 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Pairing(support all functions): A typical router will include dual bands of wifi at 5GHz and 2.4GHz. 1. Try to use AP mode to connect the device. (Scan the QR code to view the Pairing video) 2. Suggest logging in to the router’s management page and split the SSlD of 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks to distinguish them. Bluetooth Pairing Only(support partial functions): 1. Turn on smartphone’s Bluetooth, Cellular(Mobile data), Location(while using app). 2. Long-press the button on the adapter for 5-10 seconds to enter pairing state(quickly flash). 3. Open the app and click “Add Device”. 4. Skip the Wi-Fi input page and complete the connection. |

If not, the adapter needs to be replaced. If yes, please follow the steps below: 1. Make sure the smartphone has a good cellular network signal. Turn on the Bluetooth and Location(while using the app). • If using Bluetooth pairing, keep your phone close to the power adapter while using it. • If using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi pairing, make sure the Wi-Fi signal is good. 2. If the problem persists, click the icon in the upper right corner of the device control page and tap “Remove Device”→”Disconnect and wipe data”. Unplug and re-plug the power supply. Long press the button on the adapter to reset and repair the device. 3. Check if too many smart devices are connected to a single network. If so, change to another network. |
