Unpacking

  • Remove the product from packaging
  • Check if the product and accessories (if any) are intact.

Assembly

WARNING!
Before starting assembly or changing accessories, turn it off and disconnect from main power source.

  • Fitting the main wheel (10)
    • Fit the main wheel as shown in Fig. 2.
    • “a” denotes nut; “b” denotes washer; “c” denotes wheel; “d” denotes bolt.RIBIMEX-PRCOMP1-06SILR-Air-Compressor-FIG-5
  • Fitting the supporting foot (3)
    • Fit the supporting foot as shown in Fig. 3.
    • “e” denotes nut; “f” denotes supporting foot; “g” denotes bolt.
  • Fitting the air intake filter (1)
    • Fit the air intake filter as shown in Fig. 4.
    • “h” denotes air intake filter.
  • Power supply
    • Use the original power cord and plug supplied with the product.
    • The compressor must be connected to the 220-240V ~ 50Hz mains supply.
    • Long cables, extensions, cable reels… etc. cause a drop in input voltage and can impede motor start-up.
    • In case of ambient temperature below +5 °C, motor start-up is jeopardized as a result of stiffness.

Power On/Off

  • To turn on the compressor, turn the power switch (5) to the ON (upper) position.
  • To turn off the compressor, turn the power switch (5) to the OFF (lower) position.

OPERATION

Intended use

The air compressors are intended for generating and supplying compressed air to pneumatic power tools and tyres. They are not suitable for inflating small-volume items or continuous operation. They are designed for private domestic use only, not for artisanal, commercial, professional and/or industrial use.

NOTE: The compressors are intended for compressing atmospheric air only and strictly prohibits compressing any other gases.

Operation

Preparation for use
Before connecting the compressor to the mains, check the following points:

  • Mains voltage is 220-240V ~ 50Hz.
  • The power switch is in the OFF (lower) position.
  • Install the compressor in the vicinity of the point of consumption.
  • Make sure that the intake air is dry and dust free.
  • The pressure regulator should be set to its lowest setting, i. e. turned fully counterclockwise.
  • If the machine has not been used for more than 24 hours, open the drain plug (“i” in Fig. 5) to drain any accumulated condensate. After cleaning the condensed water, hand tighten the drain plug.RIBIMEX-PRCOMP1-06SILR-Air-Compressor-FIG-6

Starting the air compressor

  • Make sure the air outlet pressure regulator (8) is closed.
  • Turn on the compressor by setting the power switch to the ON (upper) position, refer to clause 4.3 for details.
  • When the air receiver tank is pressurized to its operating state, the compressor will automatically shut down.
  • Check all valves and regulators for leaks.

Connecting accessories and regulating pressure

  • WARNING! Do not operate an accessory with pressure greater than the maximum rated pressure of the accessory.
  • Connect the accessory to the quick-lock coupling (9).
  • Slowly open the outlet pressure regulator (8) until the pressure gauge (6) indicates minimum pressure for the accessory.
  • Fine adjustments to the air pressure until the accessory is working at its optimum performance.

After use

  • Turn off the compressor by pressing the power switch (5), refer to clause 4.3 for details.
  • Disconnect the accessory tool from the compressor, if necessary.
  • Turn the regulator (8) counterclockwise all the way and allow the compressor to cool down.
  • Release the residual air pressure in the tank by connecting and operation an air duster.

Overload protection

  • The compressor is equipped with an overload switch. If the motor becomes too hot, the overload switch will trip and the equipment will automatically shut down to protect the compressor from overheating.
  • If the overload switch has tripped, turn the power switch (5) to the OFF position and wait for the compressor to cool before restarting.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

WARNING!
Before any intervention on product, ensure that power is set to the “OFF” position and disconnect from main power source.

WARNING!
Users should only carry out maintenance work in accordance with this instruction manual. All other service work must be carried out by an authorized service center.

Reminder: In order to maintain the machine in good working condition, carry out regular maintenance of the machine after each use and before storage. Any breach or inadequate maintenance reduces the life of the machine and increases the risk of breakdowns and accidents.

Cleaning

  • Disconnect the hose and all accessories from the compressor before cleaning.
  • Whenever possible, keep safety devices free of dirt and dust. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure (max. 3 bar).
  • Do not use aggressive detergents, chemicals or solvents for cleaning; these may be aggressive to the plastic parts. Make sure no water can get into the interior of the product.

Maintenance

  • Condensed water
    • Turn off the compressor and disconnect the hose and all accessories from it.
    • Release any residual pressure in the tank.
    • Loosen the drain plug and drain the condensed water every day after use.
    • NOTE: The condensation water from the pressure tank may contain residual engine oil. Collect and dispose of condensation water in an environmentally friendly manner at your local collection point.
    • Check and hand tighten the drain plug.
  • Safety valve
    • The safety valve (7) has been set to the maximum permitted pressure of the pressure tank. User should not adjust the safety valve.
  • Air intake filter
    • The air intake filter (1) prevents dust and dirt from being drawn into the compressor. A clogged filter will significantly reduce compressor performance.
    • Clean the air intake filter every 300 hours of operation. Perform cleaning more frequently if the environment is dusty.
    • Remove the air filter from the air compressor, then open the filter housing. Use compressed air (approx. 3 bar) to blow debris from the filter. Assemble and install the intake filter after cleaning.

Troubleshooting

ProblemsPossible causesRecommended solutions
The compressor does not start1. No input power1. Check the power cable, plug and mains supply.
2. Insufficient power supply2. If extension cable is used, make sure it is unwound and the thickness of the wire is sufficient.
3. Ambient temperature is too low3. Never operate the compressor in ambient temperature below +5 °C.
4. Motor is overheated4. Allow the motor to cool down before

restart.

The compressor starts, but the tank does not pressurize (on pressure gauge, 11)1. The drain plug leaks1. Hand tighten the screw and check the air tightness again. Replace the screw at service centre, if necessary.
2. The seals are damaged2. Check the seals for leaks. Replace the seals at service centre, if necessary.
The compressor starts and the tank pressurized, but the accessory does not start1. The hose connections leak1. Check the hoses and connections for leaks. Replace, if necessary.
2. The quick-lock coupling (9) leaks2. Check the quick-lock coupling for leaks. Replace the part at service centre, if necessary.
 3. Incorrect output pressure setting3. Check the pressure gauge (6) and adjust the output pressure with regulator (8), make sure the pressure meets the

requirement of the accessory.
