System requirements for devices with built-in Bluetooth Low Energy or USB port:

  • Windows 10(1903) or above
  • Android 9.0 or above
  • Factory Reset: Hold the Pair button+ Fast key mapping button+ Profile button for 5 seconds, all the LED indicators will start to blink. (All custom profiles, Bluetooth pairing, key mappings, and swapped keys will be reset.

Parts of the function are only available on Windows.

Wireless Connection

  1. Turn the Mode switch to 2.4.

  2. Connect the 2.46 adapter to the USB port of your device, the Connection indicator will remain solid for 8 seconds and then go off to indicate a successful connection.

Re-pair the Keyboard and the Adapter:

  1. Turn the Mode switch to 2.4.
  2. Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter its pairing mode, the Connection indicator will start to blink rapidly.
  3. Connect the adapter to the USB port of your device.
  4. The Connection indicator will remain solid for 8 seconds and then go off to indicate a successful connection.

Wired Connection

  1. Turn the Mode switch to OFF.

  2. Connect the keyboard to the USB port of your device and wait till the keyboard is successfully recognized by your device before using it.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Turn the Mode switch to BT.

  2. Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter its pairing mode, the Connection indicator will start to blink rapidly. (This is required for the very first time only.

  3. Go to your device’s Bluetooth list and pair with “8BitDo Retro 108 Keyboard”, the Connection indicator will remain solid for 8 seconds and then go off to indicate a successful connection.

Battery
200 hours of usage time with a 2000mAh built-in battery, rechargeable with 4 hours charging time.8BitDo-Retro-108-Mechanical-Keyboard-fig-10

  • The keyboard will automatically shut down if it fails to connect within 1 minute of startup, or if there are no operations within 15 minutes after establishing a connection.
  • The keyboard will not shut down during wired connection.
  • Charging and battery life depend on variations in settings or environmental factors, and actual results may vary.

Fast Key Mapping

  • You can assign up to 6 keys to a Programmable key at the same time.
  • Press the Fast key mapping button first, then press the Programmable key to cancel the mapped key. Hold the Fast key mapping button for 5 seconds to clear all the fast key mappings.
  • The Key mapping indicator will blink rapidly when the mapped Programmable button is pressed.
  • The fast key mapping mode will automatically exit after 60 seconds of no activity.

Fast Key Swap

  • Swappable keys: Ctrl, Win, Alt and Shift.
  • The Key mapping indicator will blink rapidly when the swapped key is pressed.
