Confirmed Nortek/Nordyne-built Westinghouse HVAC: model prefix, plant, year/month
North American Westinghouse heating/cooling equipment whose rating plate and warranty explicitly identify Nortek Global HVAC/Nordyne and the XX-P-YY-MM-six-digit numbering scheme. Excludes household appliances, HTP water heaters, portable AC and power equipment.
Primary manufacturer product identifier gives XX P YY MM SSSSSS; Westinghouse-branded 2016 warranty identifies Nortek as the manufacturer. The first two characters are only a model prefix, not a full model.2016 is the conservative verified-policy horizon, not a claimed scheme start; older Westinghouse Electric serials remain unsupported.
Confirm the rating plate identifies a Nortek/Nordyne-manufactured Westinghouse HVAC product using the exact13-character manufacturer scheme. The Westinghouse brand alone is insufficient; appliance, water-heater, portable AC and generator formats differ.

Why does the year code match more than one year?
Some systems reuse letters or only encode the last one or two year digits. Every supported interpretation is retained. A decade supplied from reliable records can narrow the reading; the tool does not automatically pick the newest year.
Does the serial identify my exact model?
Usually the model is a separate plate field. Where published serial ranges actually identify a model, the result shows model candidates and links to their manuals. Overlapping ranges remain ambiguous.
Can I share the result?
After a lookup, the address includes the serial in a fragment beginning with #serial=. Use “Copy share link” to share the serial and selected context. Opening the link runs the same lookup. The fragment is not a query-string result page.
