Interpret researched MartinLogan serial layouts for model-family candidates, electronics or stat-panel identification, charted year/month and monthly sequence. Continue with the official parts lookup when your number uses another format.
Three chart layouts, with separate candidate results for shared S and T model codes. The March 2022 collector chart documents year letters for 1989–2014 and a repeated A–H cycle for 2015–2022.

The supplied decoder is a community-maintained chart, not an official MartinLogan serial registry. Results are source-qualified interpretations and need confirmation against the product label, model history and official support.
A–H each have two charted year candidates: 1989–1996 and 2015–2022. The chart does not verify a later cycle, so I–Z retain their original 1997–2014 meanings. A supplied decade narrows candidates but is not independent evidence. Some model/year combinations are inconsistent with product history and need manufacturer confirmation.
The first two characters have different meanings across layouts: single-letter model plus E/S component, or one two-character model code. Do not insert an extra E/S after a two-character prefix. The exact supplied chart lists S=Sequel and SE=SL3, so an SE serial can fit both interpretations. Another March 2022 chart also lists S=SL3; its SS panel interpretation is retained separately with that attribution. T is shared by Cinema and Theater. Compare all displayed candidates.
For CLS and Monolith stat panels, the chart includes a 1, 2 or 3 variant after S. This does not establish a complete marketed revision such as IIa or IIz. Its CS2HK712 example reports a 1996 service panel; H is also reused for 2022 in the same chart. The tool preserves both year candidates and the raw 712 sequence. The 700 series is described as replacement/service stat panels; a component date is not the whole speaker’s age.
The chart’s tentative YYMM### footnote says “seems” and calls it pre-1988 while giving 1988 examples (8803173 and 8812023). That numeric format is guidance only and is not automatically dated or assigned a model here. Long newer serials, Masterpiece, Motion, Dynamo and other unlisted formats need the official parts portal or support.
Model-family names do not determine suffixes, finishes, capacity, warranty, originality or remaining life. Sequence values retain leading zeros and are not production totals. No factory or country is encoded by the supported chart, so no map location is inferred.
The official MartinLogan Parts Portal offers product and serial-number lookup. This page links to it without submitting your serial, registering a product, signing in or calling a manufacturer API.

Community chart: model letter and electronics / panel
Chart-shaped MartinLogan single-letter model + E/S component + year + month + three digits.
This is an interpretation of the March 2022 MartinLogan Owners community chart, not a manufacturer record or authenticity check. Year letters A–H have two charted candidates (1989–1996 and 2015–2022); the serial alone does not choose between them. I–Z use the charted 1997–2014 meanings. No later cycle is extrapolated. Model names are family candidates; suffixes and revisions are not established. The final three characters are a monthly sequence, not a production quantity. A replacement panel can be newer than its cabinet or electronics. Confirm combinations against the actual model and MartinLogan support.
Community chart: Sequel candidate
SE-prefixed numbers also fit the supplied chart’s two-character SL3 model code, so compare both model-family candidates.
Alternate community chart: SL3 stat-panel candidate
Alternate March 2022 chart: single-letter S=SL3, followed by S=stat panel. The supplied chart instead lists the two-character model code SE.
This SS panel interpretation comes from the alternate March 2022 chart. For SE-prefixed numbers, the supplied chart’s SL3 model interpretation is returned without inventing a separate component code.
Community chart: Cinema candidate
Community chart: Theater candidate
Community chart: two-character model prefix
Chart-shaped MartinLogan two-character model code + year + month + three digits; no extra E/S character.
The supplied chart’s SE=SL3 prefix overlaps S=Sequel plus E=electronics. This layout does not establish a separate electronics/panel character.
Community chart: CLS / Monolith panel variant
Chart-shaped MartinLogan CLS/Monolith panel serials with a 1, 2 or 3 variant after S.

MartinLogan lookup questions
Why does the year code match more than one year?
Some systems reuse letters or only encode the last one or two year digits. Every supported interpretation is retained. A decade supplied from reliable records can narrow the reading; the tool does not automatically pick the newest year.
Does the serial identify my exact model?
Usually the model is a separate plate field. Where published serial ranges actually identify a model, the result shows model candidates and links to their manuals. Overlapping ranges remain ambiguous.
Can I share the result?
After a lookup, the address includes the serial in a fragment beginning with #serial=. Use “Copy share link” to share the serial and selected context. Opening the link runs the same lookup. The fragment is not a query-string result page.
