Where is the serial number?
Choose your product family. Locations vary by model; compare your device with the examples. The model name, regulatory code, serial number and separate date code can be different markings.
Label format: 4 letters followed by 5 digits (9 characters).
Check the label on the back or inside the printer. The original carton also has a serial label.
The FCC ID on the regulatory label identifies a radio device approval, not your individual printer serial.

Can a Canon serial number tell me the manufacturing date?
No general Canon-documented manufacturing-date formula was verified for this tool. Some older lenses carry a separate date code, which must not be confused with the unique serial number.
Does the Canon Europe checker confirm authenticity?
Its stated purpose is to check intended sales region for a supported product and serial. A matching region result alone is not proof of authenticity, ownership or warranty.
Why does an official Canon tool ask for my model?
Canon's regional and service tools use the product identity as well as the serial number. Read the model name from the device or its packaging; it may differ from the regulatory model code.
Can this page find a stolen Canon camera or its owner?
No. This guide does not access Canon registration, ownership, repair or stolen-device records.
