Overview
The Wireless Motion Alert system offers a detection range of up to 1/4 mile (400 meters). It utilizes a Passive Infrared (PIR) Motion Sensor designed to detect the movement of people and vehicles while allowing smaller animals to pass undetected. The Base Station is powered by an AC adapter and includes a backup option of 4 AA batteries, which can provide power for up to two weeks during an outage.
What's in the box
- Base Station
- AC Adapter
- Documentation
- PIR Sensor package (includes sensor back plate, screws, and masonry screw anchors)
Operation & Features
1. Base Station
The Base Station features a Micro USB port for AC adapter input, volume controls (+/-), and a power button. The power button turns the unit on or off; a red power light indicates when the station is active. The Base Station is equipped with adjustable volume controls. The lowest setting mutes the volume, and volume adjustments are heard on subsequent alarm activations. Powering off the base station resets the volume to the factory setting.
The Base Station has Zone/Line 1 to Zone/Line 4 LED Indicators. When motion is detected, the corresponding Zone LED indicator will flash.
2. Passive Infra-Red (PIR) Motion Sensor
The PIR Motion Sensor is designed for outdoor use and includes a solar panel for charging. It has a sensor eye to detect motion and a Micro USB port for charging the internal battery.
Assembly & Setting
Base Station:
- Connect the Micro USB cable to the USB port on the base station to power it using the AC adapter.
- The Base Station can also operate using 4 AA batteries for up to two weeks as a backup during power outages.
PIR Motion Sensor:
- Before installation, recharge the sensor (with its 18650 battery) using the AC adapter to ensure a full charge. A blue light indicates charging, which turns off when fully charged.
- High/Low/Off Switch: Open the black silicone seal cap at the bottom of the PIR Motion Sensor. Use the switch to set the sensor to High (30 feet detection range), Low (20 feet detection range), or Off.
- CH 1-4 Switch: Select a different channel (Zone) for each outside sensor. If installing multiple PIR Motion Sensors, ensure each sensor is set to a unique channel. This allows for unique chimes to be matched with different channels.
- Testing the PIR Motion Sensor: Wave your hand in front of the sensor. The Base Station will produce a unique tone corresponding to the sensor's setting.
- When motion is detected, the sensor's eye will flash red only when assigned to lines 1 and 2 (not lines 3 or 4).
- Low battery prompt:
- If a sensor's battery is low, the base station will announce "Channel #1/2/3/4 power low, please charge," and the corresponding Zone/Line LED indicator will flash.
- If the Base Station's battery is low, the red power LED indicator will flash.
