Module Layout
The CM-DC3 module has several connectors:
- M1 (8-pin Black): For power, ignition, starter, and accessory connections.
- M2 (12-pin Black): For lock, unlock, trunk release, arm, disarm, and other outputs.
- M3 (10-pin White): For input signals like brake, e-brake, door, tach, and hood.
- M4 (20-pin Black): Functions defined by firmware.
- M5 (6-pin Blue): Functions defined by firmware.
- M6 (6-pin Black): Functions defined by firmware.
Other connections include Battery (2-pin White), Drone (4-pin Gray), RF Port (4-pin Blue), RPS Sensor (4-pin White), Sensor 2 (4-pin Green), Alarm LED (2-pin White), Temp Sensor (2-pin Blue), Programming Button/LED (2-pin), FT-DAS (4-pin Red), and BLE (4-pin Yellow).
Wiring Diagram
The wiring diagram illustrates the connections between the CM-DC3 module and the vehicle's wiring harness. Key connections include:
- M1: Orange (Accessory +), Red (12V +), Purple (Starter +), Pink (Ignition +).
- M2: Green/Black (Lock -), Blue/Black (Unlock -), Red/White/Black (Trunk Release -), Green/White/Black (PTS Output), Green/Black/Black (PTS Output), White/Black (Parking Light -).
- M3: Brown/Silver (Brake +), Black/White/Silver (E-Brake -), Purple/Silver (Door +), Green/Silver (Door -), Purple/White/Silver (Tach -), Gray/Silver (Hood -).
- M4: Includes CAN bus connections (CANH, CANL), Immobilizer Data, and various other inputs/outputs.
- M5 & M6: Functions defined by firmware.
Specific pin assignments and wire colors are detailed in the diagram for connections such as Parking Light Switch, Smart Key Module, and Hood Switch.
Component Locator
The diagrams show the locations of key components within the vehicle:
- A: Smart Key Module, above the gas pedal.
- B: Driver Kick Panel area.
- C: Parking Light Switch.
Module Programming Procedure
- Set ignition to ON position.
- Wait for LED 1 to turn solid GREEN for 2 seconds.
- Set ignition to OFF position.
- Start vehicle for 15 seconds.
- Press and hold the brake pedal.
- Press and release the module's programming button.
- Release the brake pedal.
- Wait for LED 2 to flash GREEN.
- Module Programming Procedure completed.
WARNING: All vehicle doors must be closed and locked prior to the remote start sequence. When programming, only one key fob should be used, and the other must be at least 10 feet away from the vehicle.
Takeover Procedure
- Ensure all vehicle doors are closed and locked prior to the remote start sequence.
- Time restriction: Complete steps 2 to 5 within 45 seconds.
- Press unlock on OEM or aftermarket remote or request switch.
- Open driver door and enter vehicle.
- Close driver door.
- Press and release the BRAKE pedal.
- Take over procedure completed.
Failure to follow the procedure will result in vehicle engine shutdown.
Remote Starter Error Codes
The following table lists error codes indicated by parking light flashes:

3+4 | Trunk is open. |
3+5 | Foot brake is ON. |

3+8 | No tach detected. |
3+9 | Vehicle movement detected (VSS). |
3 + 10 | System is in Valet Mode. |
3 + 11 | CAN communication failure. |
3 + 12 | RS not synchronized. Start vehicle with OEM key for 15 sec before trying a new RS sequence. |
3 + 13 | Bypass problem. |
3+14 | Idle mode or takeover is not available on this vehicle. |
3 + 15 | Overheat protection. |
If the engine shuts down after a remote starter sequence, use the query command from a compatible aftermarket remote to display the shutdown error code. The parking lights will flash four [4x] times followed by the error code.
