Product Usage Instructions

Device Overview
The RLA-WE1 device features CPU, 5G and 2.4G wireless bands, LAN port, indicator lights, antennas, WPS buttons, and a reset button.

Initialization Procedure
Method 1: Using Reolink Wi-Fi NVR (Recommended)

  1. Power on the device and connect it to the NVR’s downstream port using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Follow on-screen prompts to complete the initialization process.

Method 2: Using the Reolink App

  1. Download the Reolink App from the App Store or Google Play store.
  2. Position the initialized extender between your NVR/router and the area needing network extension.
  3. Power on the device and follow instructions in the app to complete the initialization.

Optimal Placement Guidance
Choose between wired and wireless installation options based on your needs. Place the device near your NVR/router for optimal performance.

Checking Signal Strength

  1. After setup, check the Wi-Fi signal strength using the indicator lights.
  2. If signal is weak, move the extender closer to the device needing network extension.

Initialization Procedure

There are two methods to initialize the device:

Method 1: Using Reolink Wi-Fi NVR (Recommended)
Note: Pairing with a Reolink Wi-Fi NVR can create a Mesh network.

  1. Step 1: Power on the device and connect it to the NVR’s downstream port using an Ethernet cable. At this point, the power, CPU, and LAN indicator lights should all be on.reolink-RLA-WE1-Dual-Band-Wi-Fi-Extender-Signal-Booster-FIG- (3)
  2. Step 2: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initialization process. Once connected, the 2.4G/5G indicator light will turn on.

Method 2: Using the Reolink App

  1. Step 1: Scan to download the Reolink App from the App Store or Google Play store.reolink-RLA-WE1-Dual-Band-Wi-Fi-Extender-Signal-Booster-FIG- (5)
  2. Step 2:
    • After a moment, the 2.4G/5G indicator light or the LAN indicator light will turn on.
    • For a wireless connection, if the 2.4G/5G indicator light is not on or is orange, move the extender closer to the NVR/router for a better signal.
    • For a wired connection, if the LAN indicator light is not on, check the connections at both ends of the cable.
  3. Step 3: After extending the network, you can check the Wi-Fi signal strength with the following methods:
    • For NVR-connected devices, navigate to Settings -> Network on the NVR’s monitor display.
    • For router-connected devices, access Homepage -> Device Page ->Settings -> Wi-Fi within the Reolink mobile app.

Note: If the signal of the device needing network extension is weak, move the extender closer to that device and repeat Steps 2 and 3. If you continue to have issues after setup, please contact our technical support team.
