To troubleshoot the Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) in the TRANE 4TWR6 Heat Pumps when the system is not operating correctly in heating mode, follow these steps based on the manual:
1. Check the plug and harness connection to J6 on the EEV control board.
2. Verify that there is 24VAC present at the Y1 and/or Y2 inputs to the EEV control J6. This voltage should not be "O" (off).
If the system is pumping down in heating mode or the EEV is not sensing that the compressor is ON and in the Heat Mode, these steps can help identify and potentially resolve the issue with the EEV control. Refer to Table 3 in the manual for further details on the control input and status LED indicators for troubleshooting.
