Bleeding the AL-KO iQ7 Actuator & Control system is a crucial step to ensure efficient brake operation. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to bleed the system properly, as per the provided manual:
1. Fill the brake fluid reservoir with clean Dot 4 brake fluid to just below the top of the sight glass.
2. Place the pressure bleed gun socket gently over the neck of the reservoir, applying gentle pressure to locate the bleed socket O Ring.
3. xxxx the cap of the pressure bleed gun fully closed.
4. Attach the bleed gun to the actuator fluid reservoir and place the other end in a bottle of new brake fluid.
5. Open the bleed xxxx on the trailer brakes (start with the furthest caliper/brake) at least one full turn. Place a clear flexible hose over the bleed xxxx and immerse the other end into a container partially filled with brake fluid.
6. Squeeze the pressure bleed gun repeatedly (not too fast to avoid cavitation) to ensure that the brake fluid tank and reservoir do not run out of brake fluid, preventing air from entering the hydraulic system.
7. Continue squeezing the pressure bleed gun until the brake fluid in the flexible hose attached to the bleed xxxx is free of air bubbles, then tighten the bleed xxxx .
8. Repeat the bleeding process for any other calipers/brakes on the same side of the trailer, working towards the actuator.
9. Bleed the other side of the trailer starting with the closest caliper/brake to the actuator first.
10. Connect the trailer to the tow vehicle and start the vehicle to activate the actuator. Allow the compressor to fully charge the actuator (approximately 120 seconds).
11. Apply the brakes and hold for a 5-second period, then release. Repeat this process four times.
12. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum level indicated on the sight glass.
13. Insert and tighten the fluid reservoir cap.
By following these steps, you can effectively bleed the AL-KO iQ7 Actuator & Control system, ensuring optimal brake performance and safety.
