To install the HOCHIKI FireNET Graphix Intelligent Fire Alarm hardware, follow these steps as outlined in the user guide:
1. **Hardware Installation:**
- Remove power from the panel before installing the dongle.
- Install the dongle in the enclosure using the provided mounting screws.
- Connect 24 VDC power to the X3 connector on the dongle, ensuring correct polarity.
- Connect the ribbon cable between the X2 connector on the dongle and the FireNET panel J5 (PC) connector.
- Install a four-conductor RS485 cable from the X4 terminal on the dongle to the computer, connecting it to the terminals marked T+, T-, R+, and R-.
- Install the RS232/RS485 converter at the computer and connect it to the cable from the dongle.
2. **Software Installation:**
- Insert the CD into the CD ROM drive of the PC and wait for the installation to start.
- Follow the setup instructions and click "Next" to each prompt, unless you wish to change any folder locations.
- Click "Finish" when the installation is completed.
3. **What's Next:**
- Design: Create a project using the FireNET Graphix designer program by importing maps and configuration data, selecting and editing images and zones, setting up device icons, etc.
- Security Code: Enter a security code to unlock the dongle for communication with the FireNET network.
- Run: Use the FireNET Graphix Run application to monitor the fire alarm system.
4. **Simulation Mode:**
- You can use FireNET Graphix in 'Simulation Mode' to test and demonstrate the product without the hardware dongle. Refer to the manual for more details.
