To connect the YDLIDAR G6 to your computer for evaluation and development under Windows, follow these steps as outlined in the user manual:
1. **Device Connection:**
- Connect the USB adapter board with the G6 lidar.
- Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the adapter board and your PC.
- Ensure the Type-C interface of the USB cable is connected to the USB_DATA of the USB interface board.
- Make sure the lidar is powered on in idle mode with the motor not rotating.
- If the USB interface of your PC has insufficient drive current, provide auxiliary power supply of +5V to the G6 through the USB_PWR interface of the USB interface board.
2. **Driver Installation:**
- Download the serial port driver for the USB adapter board from the official YDLIDAR website or Silicon Labs website.
- Install the driver by running the CP2102's Windows driver installation file (exe file) and selecting the appropriate version for your Windows operating system.
- After installation, verify the driver installation by checking the serial port name corresponding to the identified USB adapter in the Device Manager.
3. **Evaluation Software Usage:**
- Download and run the YDLIDAR LidarViewer software for real-time scanning point cloud data visualization.
- Ensure the USB adapter board serial port driver is successfully installed and the G6 is connected to your PC.
- Run the LidarViewer.exe, select the serial port number and model number, and choose the language.
- Start scanning to display the environment point cloud and utilize features like data storage, scan frequency adjustment, mean and standard deviation display, recording, debugging, and filtering.
By following these steps, you can successfully connect and evaluate the YDLIDAR G6 lidar on your Windows system.
