To prevent the fiberglass basin from floating up during installation of the PENTAIR MG200 Simplex Grinder Pump system, it is crucial to pour concrete around the basin to secure it in place. The amount of concrete required depends on the diameter and depth of the basin. For example, a 24" diameter basin that is 5 feet deep would require 10 cubic feet of concrete to prevent flotation. It is recommended to pour the concrete over an anti-flotation ring to ensure the basin remains stable. Additionally, if the basin is installed in dry ground without surface water, only one-third of the calculated concrete volume may be needed. Properly securing the basin with concrete will help avoid any issues related to floating during installation and operation.
