To create and store custom chords on the QU-BIT Original Chord Module, follow these steps:
1. **Accessing User Chords:**
- User chords are stored on the SD card. If no SD card is inserted, the bank will be filled with empty chords.
- To access user chords, hold the Harm button for 3 seconds. This will disable any auto-harmonization, and the Harm LED will illuminate white.
- Quality will select from one of twelve user chords.
- Pressing the Harm button again will exit custom chord usage.
- An SD Card is required for storing/loading custom chords between power cycles.
2. **Creating User Chords on the SD Card:**
- Custom chords can be edited on the SD Card.
- Define the chord with the prefix “CHORD_” followed by a number 1-12.
- Use a comma-separated list of semitone offsets to specify the chord. Only the third, fifth, and seventh are specified.
- Example: CHORD_1=4,7,11 (Major chord)
3. **Creating User Chords on the Chord Module:**
- Access user chords and select the chord you want to replace.
- Hold the Harm button and press the Mode button to enter the chord editor for the selected chord.
- The Mode LED will blink white, and V/Oct and Lead will be disabled while editing chords.
- Use the Coarse xxxx to adjust the fundamental (root note) for different pitches.
- Fine xxxx controls the note from the Third jack, Voicing xxxx for the Fifth, and Quality xxxx for the Seventh.
- All chord tones can be set to any note between the root and two octaves above the root.
- Press the Triad button to control whether the chord tones are quantized to semitones or not.
- Chords are stored on an SD card if present. Save the chord and exit the menu by pressing the Mode button.
By following these steps, you can create and store custom chords on the QU-BIT Original Chord Module using the SD card slot.
