To replace the SlimLite Pool Light assembly in your existing pool, follow these steps as outlined in the user manual:
1. **Disconnect Power:** Always disconnect power to the pool light at the circuit breaker before servicing the light to avoid the risk of electrical shock or electrocution.
2. **Prepare for Replacement:**
- Turn off the main electrical switch or circuit breaker and the switch that operates the SlimLite light.
- Do not service the light while it is in the pool water. Service the light on the deck.
- Have a new Lens Gasket (P/N 620400Z) ready for installation.
3. **Remove the Light Assembly:**
- Using a 1/4” Hex head driver, remove all eight hex head screws and the Clamp ring from the light housing.
- Carefully pry off the gasket to remove the lens. Set the lens aside for installation later. Discard the old gasket.
4. **Remove the Circuit Board:**
- Carefully remove the four retainer nuts from the light assembly using a ¼” nut driver.
- Unplug the two connector plugs from the circuit board and lift the circuit board out of the light housing base.
- Discard the old thermal strips and replace them with the new ones provided.
- Seat the circuit board on top of the thermal strips and secure it with the retaining nuts.
5. **Reassemble the Light:**
- Install the new Lens and Gasket. Ensure the gasket is replaced each time the light is reassembled.
- Position the lens based on the desired beam angle (wide or narrow) and insert the light assembly into the slot of the grille.
- Install the Clamp Ring and tighten the screws in the specified pattern without overtightening.
6. **Final Steps:**
- Ensure the clamp ring is flush with the grille, and the screws are tightened properly.
- Verify that the red silicon gasket is not visible between the grille and the light housing.
- Complete the assembly by tightening all screws and ensuring they are flush with the top of the clamp ring.
By following these steps carefully and referring to the manual for detailed illustrations and part numbers, you can safely replace the SlimLite Pool Light assembly in your existing pool.
