To start using the STEVAL-25R3916B kit, follow these steps:
1. **Hardware Setup:**
- Connect the ST25 Evaluation motherboard to your PC using the micro-USB port for power.
- Ensure that the jumper JP14 on the ST25 evaluation motherboard is positioned correctly.
- Optionally, connect a USB mini cable to use the ST-LINK to flash the program memory of the STM32L476 MCU.
2. **Software Setup:**
- Download the required firmware and software packages from www.st.com:
- STSW-ST25R018: firmware for the kit (binary and source code available).
- STSW-ST25R010: PC installer for the ST25R3916B Evaluation GUI used for USB mode.
3. **Main Demonstrations:**
- **Reader / Writer Demonstration:**
- Tag detection screen: Place a tag on the antenna to detect it.
- Tag inventory screen: Display basic information about the detected tag.
- Tag information screen: View detailed information about the selected tag.
- NDEF screen: Read and write NDEF messages from/to the tag.
- **Card Emulation Demonstration:**
- Configure the ST25R3916B to act as an NFC Forum Type 4A card.
- Use a smartphone with NFC enabled to read the emulated card content.
- **Peer to Peer Demonstration:**
- Configure the ST25R3916B in different NFC Forum peer-to-peer modes.
- Wait for a peer device to connect in initiator or target roles.
- **Automatic Antenna Tuning Demonstration:**
- Fine-tune the antenna by controlling variable capacitances for optimal performance.
4. **USB Mode:**
- Reset the motherboard while holding the blue user button to enter USB mode.
- Connect the ST25 evaluation board to a PC using the micro-USB port for full control.
