To check if the surge protection on your TrickleStar TS1802TF PowerStrip is functioning correctly, you can refer to the LED indicators on the device:
1. **Surge LED:** When illuminated green, the surge LED indicates that the surge protection is working normally. If this LED turns red or goes out, it means the surge protection has been activated, and the PowerStrip has sacrificed itself to protect your devices. In this case, the PowerStrip needs to be replaced.
2. **Ground LED:** A green illuminated ground LED signifies that the PowerStrip is properly grounded. If this LED is not lit, it indicates a grounding issue, and you should contact an electrician to rectify the problem. Surge protection will not be effective without proper grounding.
