To properly care for and maintain your Fillauer 1910070 MC ProPlus Hand, follow these guidelines:
1. Avoid Water Exposure: The MC Hand is not waterproof, so do not allow water to enter the cosmetic glove or inner hand shell. Keep the cosmetic glove and inner hand shell intact to prevent moisture from entering the mechanism and causing damage.
2. Caution with Flammable Gases: Be careful when operating the hand around flammable gases, as the electric motor can ignite volatile gases.
3. Avoid Bending Fingertips: Do not apply full body weight on the finger or thumb tips, as this can cause damage. If the fingertips become bent or misaligned, consult your prosthetist for assistance.
4. Use Safety Release: Do not force the fingers and/or thumb opened or closed. Utilize the safety release for easy opening and closing of the hand to prevent damage to the device.
5. Avoid Repairs or Alterations: Do not attempt to repair or alter any mechanical or electronic components of the MC Hand, as this can lead to damage, additional repairs, and void the warranty.
6. Customize Settings: It is recommended that your prosthetist utilize the User Interface to customize the settings for your specific needs to optimize the functionality of the device.
7. Exercise Caution: Be cautious when using the device in situations where injury to yourself or others may occur, such as driving or operating heavy machinery. Be aware of potential issues like low battery, loss of electrode contact, or mechanical/electrical malfunctions.
8. Seek Help for Serious Incidents: In the event of a serious incident related to the device, seek immediate medical assistance and contact your prosthetist. Clinicians should reach out to Motion Control in case of any device failure.
