To connect the wm SYSTEM M2M Industrial Router to the internet using a cellular network, follow these steps as outlined in the installation guide:
1. **Mount Antenna:** Attach an SMA 50 Ohm antenna to the Main antenna connector.
2. **Insert SIM Card:** Insert an activated mini SIM card into the SIM slot with the SIM chip surface facing up and the cut edge facing the router. Push the SIM card until it clicks into place. To remove the SIM card, power off the router and gently push the SIM card to release it.
3. **Connect Ethernet Cable:** Connect a UTP cable from the router's Ethernet RJ45 port to your PC's Ethernet port for configuration. After configuration, connect the cable to an external device.
4. **Configuration Options:** You can also configure the router through the micro-USB slot using a microUSB-USB cable for PC connection.
5. **Connect External Devices:** Connect an RS485 meter or device to the RS485 port to receive data. For Modbus devices, connect to port 12, and for RS232 devices, connect to port 11.
6. **Power On:** Connect the microfit DC power connector to power on the router. The LED lights will indicate the current status of the device.
7. **Access Router Interface:** Connect to the router via Ethernet and access the router's IP address in your computer's browser (IP address: 192.168.127.x, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0) to configure the settings.
8. **Configure Cellular Network Settings:** Set up the cellular network settings in the Network/Interfaces menu on the router's web interface. Configure the WAN interface with the appropriate settings for your cellular network connection.
9. **Save Settings:** Click on the Save & Apply button to save your configuration settings.
10. **Check Connection:** Verify that the router is connected to the mobile internet network by checking the RX (received data), TX (sent data), and KB (KBytes) values, which should be increasing. The LED indicators will show the network registration process.
11. **Further Settings:** You can adjust LAN settings, DHCP, DNS settings, and firmware updates as needed for optimal performance.
