To install the ASUS Q21362 Remote Management LAN Card IPMI Expansion Card, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your motherboard features a BMC_HEADER header. Refer to your motherboard's user manual for more details.
2. Connect the BMC cable to the BMC header (BMC_HEADER) on the IPMI expansion card and the BMC header on your motherboard. Make sure the cable connectors are notched and fit in the correct orientation.
3. Connect the USB 2.0 cable to the USB connector (USB) on the IPMI expansion card and the USB 2.0 connector on your motherboard. This will supply power to the IPMI expansion card.
4. Connect the Power On/Off cable and Reset cables to the MB pins on the Panel header (PANEL) on the IPMI expansion card. Then, connect them to the Panel header on the motherboard. Ensure that the red cable is closest to the PCB when connecting the cables. Note that the Power On/Off cable and Reset cable are connected in opposite orientations when connecting them to the Panel header on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard's user guide for the pin definitions of the Panel header.
5. Connect the Power On/Off cable and Reset cables from the chassis to the CHA pins on the Panel header. Again, ensure that the red cable is closest to the PCB.
6. This board features three T-Sensor headers (T_SENSOR) for temperature monitoring functions. Connect T-sensor cables to these headers if needed.
7. Connect the PMBus connector from the PSU to the PSU PM_BUS header (PSUSMB) for monitoring information on the PSU, such as voltage, current, and temperature.
8. Connect the 6-pin PCIE power connector from the PSU to the 6-pin PSU connector (PCIE_PWR).
9. Insert the IPMI expansion card into a PCIe slot on your motherboard.
For more detailed information on the installation process, you can refer to the user guide that came with the product.
