To check a circuit for voltage using the EXTECH ET26B 4 Way Circuit Tester, follow these steps:
1. Insert the test leads into an outlet or carefully touch the test leads to the electrical contacts or conductor you want to test.
2. If voltage is present in the circuit, the neon indicator on the tester will light up, indicating the voltage level of the circuit.
3. You can also use the tester to test for the live side of a receptacle. Insert one probe into the ground post of the receptacle and insert the other probe into the alternate slots of the receptacle. The neon indicator will light up when the probe makes contact with the live side of the outlet.
4. The tester's unique design allows for easy one-hand testing of outlets.
Please note the following warnings and cautions:
- Before using the tester, always check its proper operation on a known working circuit.
- Do not use the tester outside of the marked/rated voltage range.
- Use extreme caution when checking electrical circuits to avoid injury due to electrical shock.
- The user is assumed to have basic knowledge of electricity, and FLIR Systems, Inc. is not responsible for any injury or damages due to improper use of the tester.
