To blend and transform between the two layers using the Modwheel in RealiTone Nightfall Software, you can follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have both Layer 1 and Layer 2 turned on by clicking the respective "On/Off" buttons labeled "Layer 1" and "Layer 2" above the Menu Bars.
2. The Modwheel has three Behavior Options: X, 7, and Expression. By default, it is set to X.
- X: This option allows you to crossfade between Layer 1 and Layer 2. When the Modwheel is at 0, you will only hear Layer 1. When the Modwheel is at 127, you will only hear Layer 2. Holding the Modwheel at 50% will blend both layers equally.
- 7: This option fades Layer 2 in over the top of Layer 1. Layer 1 stays at full volume while Layer 2 fades up or down based on the Modwheel position. Both layers stay at equal volumes, disabling any blending between them.
- Expression: By engaging the "EXPRESSION" button, the Modwheel can control Expression (like volume) in addition to its default behavior. This allows you to have more control over the sound.
Note: If you only have one Layer active, the active Layer will stay at full volume regardless of the Modwheel Behavior option selected. The Modwheel will control volume only if the Expression button is active.
