Quick Start Guide

Important Safety Information

• Keep the device away from water, fire, humidity, or hot environments.
• Do not use a damaged charger or USB cable.
• Use only recommended chargers.
• Do not use the device where wireless devices are not allowed.
• The adapter shall be installed near the equipment and easily accessible.
• Use only power supplies provided by the manufacturer in the original packing.
• For indoor use only.
• Do not disassemble, repair, or modify the product.
• Do not use the product if the casing is broken. Danger of electric shock.
• Never touch the product with wet hands.
• Do not expose to heavy rain or any type of moisture.
• Do not place near automatically controlled devices like fire alarms, as radio waves may cause malfunction.
• Observe restrictions on using wireless products in fuel depots, chemical plants, or during blasting operations.
• Do not use liquid to clean the product; use only a dry cloth.
• Never put metal objects inside the product. If a metal object enters, turn off the circuit breaker and contact an authorized electrician.
• This product is not intended for medical care. Consult manufacturers of personal medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, hearing aids) regarding RF shielding.
• Do not use this product in healthcare facilities, as they may use equipment sensitive to external RF energy.
• Do not use this product near water (e.g., bathtub, sink, wet basement, swimming pool).
• Keep the product free from excessive smoke, dust, high temperature, and vibration.
• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight.
• Do not place heavy objects on top of the product.
• Unplug the product from the power outlet when leaving it unused for a long time.
• Keep the product away from heat sources (radiators, cookers). Do not place in rooms with temperatures below 0°C or above 40°C. Avoid damp basements.
• This product may interfere with other electronic products (TVs, radios, computers, phones, other wireless devices).

Appearance

The camera features the following external components:

• Lens: The primary optical component for capturing images.
• System LED: Indicates the operational status of the camera.
• Privacy Mode Button: Used to activate or deactivate privacy mode, which hides the camera lens.
• Micro SD RESET: A button for resetting the camera or related functions.
• Micro SD Card Slot: For inserting a microSD card for local storage.

Note: Tilt the camera lens upwards to locate the RESET button and the microSD card slot.

System LED Indication

Slot & Button Explanation

• RESET Button: While the camera is on, press and hold the RESET button for at least 5 seconds until the LED blinks red.
• microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card and initialize it on the Tapo app for local recording.
• Privacy Mode Button: Press the button to turn Privacy Mode on and off. When Privacy Mode is on, the camera lens is hidden.

Set Up Your Camera

1. STEP 1: DOWNLOAD APP

   Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. STEP 2: POWER UP

   Plug in your camera and wait until the LED blinks red and green.

3. STEP 3: SET UP

   Tap the button in the app and select your model. Follow the app instructions to complete setup.

Mount Your Camera

1. 1. Mark Position

   Place the mounting template where you want the camera. For wall mounting, drill two holes through two circles on the template.

2. 2. Mount Base

   Affix the camera base using the screws. For wall mounting, insert two anchors into the holes and use the screws to affix the camera base over the anchors.

3. 3. Secure Camera

   Attach the camera onto the base and rotate to secure it.
