Special safety instructions
Caution: Follow this manual and adhere to all safety instructions, otherwise the protective effect of the ear protectors may be reduced.
This product may be damaged by certain chemical substances.
The ear protectors, and the pads in particular, may deteriorate with use and so should regularly be checked for tear and leaks.
If the ear protectors are damaged or worn, they will not provide the expected protection, and they must therefore not be used any longer. Replace or repair the ear protectors.
Check the ear protectors thoroughly for wear and tear before each use.
Placing hygienic covers over the pads may affect the acoustic function of the ear protectors.
Check that the ear protectors are correctly positioned regularly during use in order to ensure they are providing the optimum protection.
The use of ear protectors with or without the entertainment function may make it harder to hear warning signals in the workplace.
Never use in traffic.
The ear protectors must not be exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this may deform them.
Take care of your hearing: do not listen to the radio at high volume.
There may be interference if the ear protectors are used in the proximity of electrical equipment, such as fluorescent lights or televisions.
Ear muffs complying with EN 352-1 are of medium size range or small size range or large size range.
Medium size range ear-muff will fit the majority of wearers, small size range or large size range ear-muffs are designed to fit wearers for whom medium size range earmuffs are not suitable.
Because of the radio receiver, the ear protectors must not be used in damp surroundings or in very high ambient temperatures and never at temperatures above 55 °C.
Incorrectly installed batteries can damage the circuitry. Never replace batteries with the unit switched on. Ensure that the battery is positioned correctly before using.
Warning: If the users do not follow these recommendations, attenuation and other functions will be severely impaired. The output of the electrical audio circuit of this headband earmuff may exceed the daily limit sound level.
Check and replace batteries if necessary. The audibility of warning signals at specific workplaces may be impaired while using the entertainment facility.
Using the ear protectors
Set the headband to the maximum “open” position. Place the earmuffs over the ears and the headband over the head.
Adjust the height of the earmuffs until they feel comfortable and the headband is resting on top of the head, supporting the earmuffs.
The pads of the earmuffs should fit close against the head.
Adjust the curve to adjust the pressure of the band and to achieve effective noise attenuation. Put the ear protectors on prior to any exposure to noise and keep them on as long as the noise continues.
Adjust the headband so that the ear protectors can be worn comfortably and cover the ears correctly.
Do not needlessly pull on the headband, as the spring force is essential for the ear protectors’ function.
The ear protectors fulfil the requirements of EN352.
The attenuation values are tested and approved acc. to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and applicable sections of EU Standard
EN 352-1:2002, EN352-8:2008.The earmuff volume is measured at no more than 82dB (A) equivalent noise according to the PPER Regulation.
The electronic circuit of the earmuff with
FM radio meets the electrical safety and
RED requirement appropriate to this class of equipment.
Using the radio
Press the on/off button (8) to switch the radio on, and adjust the volume using the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons (6/9).
Press the SCAN UP or SCAN DOWN button (5/7) to search up or down the frequency band for radio stations. If you press and hold the button for 3 seconds, the radio automatically searches for the next radio Station with an adequate signal strength.
In some instances, radio reception may be affected by your surroundings and movements. This is normal.
If the sound becomes weaker, the batteries need replacing.
Turn the radio off by pressing the on/off button.
Clean the ear protectors with a soft cloth soaked in warm, soapy water and then well wrung.
Do not submerge the ear protectors in water. Wipe with a soft dry cloth afterwards. The ear protectors must be completely dry before they are used again.
Do not use a brush or similar, as this may damage the product.
Do not use organic solvents or spirit for cleaning.
Never use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents, as they may affect the plastic parts.
We recommend disinfecting the ear protectors every 3 months, depending on how much they are used. Any part of the ear protector that is in contact with the user should be disinfected with spirit.
We recommend that the ear protectors be kept in a dry bag or sealed box when not in use.
