Thank you for choosing the Ninebot Urban E-bike (referred to as "E-bike" in this manual). This product is an EPAC (electric power-assisted cycle) with three riding modes available, which balance motor assistance and pedaling force:
- No electric assistance
- 1:1 electric assistance
- 2:1 electric assistance
The E-bike is designed to be easy to operate, safe, comfortable, and environmentally-friendly.
Important: Please read the User Manual carefully before using the product and keep it for future reference. Do not ride until you are familiar with the proper operation of this product.

1 Riding Safety
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Only use this product for the purpose for which it was designed. Mastering riding skills requires practice. Ninebot (Ninebot (Beijing) Tech Co., Ltd. or its subsidiaries and affiliates) and Segway Inc. are not responsible for injuries or damage caused by a rider's inexperience or failure to follow the instructions in this user manual.
- Please follow local regulations and only ride on roads permitted by law.
- For your safety, DO NOT modify the E-bike or change parts yourself.
- Tampering with the E-bike (e.g., using non-original parts) could lead to operation failure. Any accidents resulting from unauthorized tampering are the rider's responsibility.
- The A-weighted emission sound pressure level at the driver's ears is less than 70 dB(A).

When using this product, basic precautions should always be followed:
- Read all instructions before using the product.
- Close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children to reduce the risk of injury.
- DO NOT put fingers or hands into the product.
- DO NOT use this product if the power cord or output cable is frayed, has broken insulation, or shows other signs of damage.
- DO NOT allow anyone to ride the E-bike alone unless they understand the proper operation and safety warnings. Assist new riders until they are comfortable with basic operation.
- Ensure the headlight is on when driving at night.
Riding Environment Requirement
- Only ride on a flat paved surface. Off-road use is not recommended.
- Slow down when riding on complicated road conditions. High speeds over obstacles, on uneven/slippery/loose ground, steep slopes, or sharp turns can lead to falls, collisions, or death.
- DO NOT ride in bad weather such as heavy rain, storm, or snow. Reduced traction and increased braking distance in such conditions pose a risk. Ride slower and brake earlier to maintain control.

Riding on complex terrains or in adverse weather conditions can lead to falls, collisions, and serious injury.
Who Should Not Ride
People in the following groups should not ride the E-bike:
- Anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or intoxicants.
- Anyone who suffers from diseases that put them at risk during strenuous physical activity.
- Anyone whose height and/or weight is outside the stated limits (See Specifications).
Preparations before Riding
- Ensure there are no loose fasteners or damaged parts. Pedals should be attached firmly.
- Adjust the saddle height to your height (see "Learn to Ride" section, if available).
- Check the power supply circuit, lighting, dashboard display, and ensure they work normally.
- Verify that the front and rear brakes function properly.
- Ensure the handlebar is stable and the front and rear wheels are not shaky or loose.
- Make sure reflectors are not damaged or dirty.
- Wear an approved helmet and other protective gear. Wear comfortable shoes; avoid loose-fitting clothes that could get caught in the wheels.
- When the battery is low, charge immediately.
- Check tire tread and brake pad wear. Replace parts if worn.
Instructions on Riding and Usage
- DO NOT accelerate or brake abruptly.
- Hold the handlebar with both hands to avoid injuries from loss of balance or falling.
- Stay alert, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and slow down when entering new environments.
- DO NOT use a cell phone, camera, headphones, earbuds, or perform other activities while riding.
- Slow down when approaching intersections, motorways, corners, or doors. Yield to pedestrians and other vehicles.
- If any abnormality occurs, stop riding immediately and contact after-sales service. Do not ride until the cause is found and repaired.
- This equipment is not intended for use at ambient temperatures below 32°F (0°C) or above 133°F (45°C).

Avoid inappropriate use, including manipulation of the electric management system.

2 Product Overview

Note: When you press the throttle to speed up, pedaling acceleration will be ineffective.
Dashboard Indicators Explained
- Speedometer: Displays current speed and error codes in red.
- Engineer repair: A lit wrench icon (?) indicates an error.
- Bluetooth: Shows the Bluetooth connection status.
- Headlight: ON/OFF status is adjustable via server command.
- Location: Flashes red when unable to locate.
- Server connection: Flashes red for network connection failure.
- Speed unit: Adjustable via server command.
- Status light: Indicates riding mode or vehicle status. Colors and meanings are defined via server command. Three modes are available:
- Manual mode: No motor assistance.
- ECO Assist mode: Motor provides 1:1 power assistance when pedaling.
- Turbo Assist mode: Motor provides 2:1 power assistance when pedaling.
Note on Assistance Modes:
- The ratio represents motor assistance to pedaling force. Motor assistance increases automatically when riding uphill.
- If the E-bike malfunctions, all four battery bars will flash red, accompanied by an alarm, and motor power will be cut off.
- Battery level: Indicated by 5 bars, each representing approximately 20% of a full battery. Charge when only one bar remains.
3 Operating Instructions
⚠️ WARNING
Wear an approved helmet and other protective gear to minimize any possible injury.
1 Power ON
Turn on the E-bike by sending specific commands through the server or by tapping the customized NFC card. The dashboard lights up when powered on successfully, indicating the E-bike is ready to go.
2 Adjust the Saddle Height
For a comfortable ride, when sitting on the saddle, place the heel of your foot on the pedal. Your other foot should touch the ground.

⚠️ WARNING
DO NOT pull the seat post higher than the minimum inserting depth mark, as this may lead to accidents and injury.
How to adjust the height: Pull the seat post clamp outwards, adjust the saddle to the proper height and angle, and then close the clamp to secure the saddle. Ensure the clamp and saddle are stable when closed.
3 Choose the Riding Mode
There are three riding modes available. New riders are recommended to start with ECO Assist mode and maintain a low speed.
4 Braking
Brake by squeezing the brake lever. It is recommended to engage both brake levers simultaneously.

To turn, shift your body weight and gently turn the handlebar towards your direction of travel.
⚠️ WARNING
Abrupt braking risks serious injury due to loss of traction and falls. Maintain a moderate speed and be aware of potential hazards.
4 How to Charge
Charge the E-bike

Plug the charger output into the charging port, and then connect to a power outlet. Remember to unplug from the power outlet once fully charged. Your bike is fully charged when the charger indicator turns green.
Charge the Battery
Open the battery compartment via your app. Pull off the battery plug and remove the battery. Connect the charger output to the battery charging port, then plug into a power outlet. Place the battery back in and close the compartment when finished.

5 Warnings and Cautions
⚠️ WARNING
- The battery is designed to be charged when the ambient temperature is between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C). Never charge the battery outside this range.
- Only use the original charger. Other types can cause bursting or fire.
- Charge indoors. DO NOT charge if the battery is wet or damaged.
- DO NOT connect the charger if the charge port or charger cable is wet.
- Ensure good ventilation when charging. Stay away from fire or explosive materials.
- If you notice an abnormal smell, sound, or light display, stop charging immediately and contact after-sales service.
- After the charger cools down, store it in a safe place inaccessible to children.
When riding on the road, always obey traffic rules, local laws, and regulations. DO NOT ride on motorways or highways.
DO NOT carry heavy objects on the handlebar.
DO NOT ride in bad weather such as heavy rain and snow.

Hold the handlebar with both hands.
DO NOT use mobile phones, cameras, headphones, earplugs, etc., while riding.
6 User Maintenance Instructions
Cleaning
Wash with water and a neutral detergent, using a soft, wet cloth.
CAUTION
- DO NOT clean with alcohol, gasoline, acetone, or other corrosive/volatile solvents, as these may damage the bike's appearance and internal structure. DO NOT rub with sandpaper or a metal brush.
- DO NOT use high-pressure cleaners, as they can damage electrical components.
- DO NOT install the product yourself. Installation should be performed by professional personnel.
⚠️ WARNING
Before cleaning, ensure the E-bike is powered off. Always remove the battery during maintenance.
Moving and Storage
Store in a dry, cool place away from sunlight and rain to prevent rust and prolong service life. Fully charge the battery before long-term storage to prevent over-discharge.
Before lifting, moving, or transporting the E-bike, ensure it is powered off. Handle with care, avoiding violent force (e.g., throwing, heavy pressure). Keep away from fire and water.
Battery Storage
Battery storage temperature depends on storage duration:
- -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C) for one month.
- -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) for three months.
- -4°F to 68°F (-20°C to 20°C) for 12 months.
If not using the E-bike for an extended period, remove the fully charged battery, store it in a dry, well-ventilated place, and charge it every two months.
⚠️ WARNING
- DO NOT disassemble the battery pack. There is a risk of electric shock, short circuit, fire, explosion, or injury.
- For information about battery and electrical waste disposal, contact your local household waste disposal service, waste management office, or point-of-sale.
Charger
- Always follow instructions in the user manual and on the charger label.
- Handle the charger with care.
- High voltage inside the charger! DO NOT disassemble or replace charger parts.
- DO NOT leave the charger connected to the power outlet for extended periods. Unplug when not charging.
Lubrication
Lubricate the chains approximately every two weeks with bicycle-specific chain lube.
Chain Tension and Adjustment
Correct chain tension: With 3.5 oz (100 g) pressure, there should be 0.6-1.0 in (15-25 mm) of free play in the chain.
How to adjust: Loosen the axle nuts on both sides, then adjust the bolt. Once proper free play is achieved, tighten the axle nuts. Ensure there is no abnormal noise and the wheels turn freely.
Tightening torque: 12-14 N·m

Brakes and Friction Components
Drum brake adjustment requires professional technicians. Only replace friction components with original spare parts. Contact Segway-Ninebot after-sales service for details.

⚠️ WARNING
As with all mechanical components, EPACs are subjected to wear and high stresses. Different materials and components react differently to wear or stress fatigue. If a component's design life is exceeded, it may suddenly fail, possibly causing injuries. Any crack, scratch, or color change in highly stressed areas indicates the component's life has been reached and it should be replaced.

For information about battery and electrical waste, please contact your household waste disposal service, your local or regional waste management office, or your point-of-sale.
- Try not to use any non-original accessories, and never dismantle or modify the product without authorization. All damages and losses arising therefrom will be your sole responsibility.
