1. Introduction

Your unit is designed for flush mounting or direct use. When flush mounted on the wall, the included stand allows for an angular view of the unit. The model number is located on the bottom of the unit. Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to these numbers whenever contacting your COMMAX dealer regarding this product.

2. Important Safeguards

Damage Requiring Service: Refer servicing of this equipment to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

  • If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the unit.
  • If the equipment has been exposed to rain or water.
  • If the equipment has been dropped or otherwise damaged.
  • When the equipment exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.

Water and Moisture: Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, and the like.

Accessories: The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the appliance. Ensure proper mounting according to the manufacturer's instructions, and use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.

Object and Liquid Entry: Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts, which could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.

Lightning: For added protection, before a lightning storm, or when the unit is left detached and unused for long periods, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the other system. This will prevent damage due to lightning and power-line surges. If you live in an area heavily prone to lightning storms, it is recommended that you invest in power-line, telephone-line, RF cable, and actuator/polarization surge protectors to protect your appliance system from possible damage.

3. Overview

The COMMAX DP-2S door phone consists of the following components:

  • 1. VOLUME CONTROL: Adjusts the audio volume.
  • 2. HANDSET: Used for communication.
  • 3. DOOR RELEASE BUTTON: Activates the door lock release mechanism.
  • 4. S-CORD: Connection cord for the handset.
  • 5. POWER CORD: Connects the unit to the power supply.

4. Wiring

5. Installation

6. Caution

7. Operation

[SUB UNIT]

  1. Initiates an electric chime call.
  2. Provides a call tone for visitors.
  3. Enables hands-free talk within a 30cm range.

[MASTER UNIT]

  1. Lift the handset (②) to answer an incoming call and communicate.
  2. Adjust the call volume using the volume control (①).
  3. Press the door release button (③) to open the door.
