Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Jura E8. The machine features integrated rinsing, cleaning, and descaling programs to simplify upkeep.

1. Cleaning the Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container

The drip tray and coffee grounds container are integrated and slide out from the front of the machine for easy emptying and cleaning. It is recommended to empty and rinse these components regularly to maintain hygiene and prevent blockages.

2. Milk System Cleaning

The milk frother and its components should be cleaned daily, especially after preparing milk-based drinks. The detachable design allows for thorough rinsing under running water. Follow the machine's prompts for automated milk system cleaning cycles.

3. Descaling and Filter Replacement

The Jura E8 will prompt you when descaling or filter replacement is necessary. Use only Jura-approved descaling tablets and CLARIS water filters to ensure proper machine function and water quality. These processes are guided by the machine's display.

Troubleshooting

Should you encounter any issues with your Jura E8, consult the following general advice. For detailed troubleshooting or persistent problems, refer to the comprehensive user manual or contact Jura customer support.

  • No Coffee Dispensed: Check water tank level, ensure beans are in the hopper, and verify no blockages in the coffee spout.
  • Poor Coffee Quality: Adjust grind settings (finer for stronger, coarser for weaker), ensure fresh beans, and perform a cleaning cycle.
  • Milk Not Frothing: Ensure milk system components are clean, milk is cold, and the milk frother dial is set correctly.
  • Error Messages: Follow the instructions displayed on the machine's screen. Most error messages indicate a specific action required (e.g., "Fill water tank," "Empty grounds").
