Blank the Instrument

1. Fill the sample to the 10 mL line.
2. Place the sample in the cell holder.
3. Press the Blank button to calibrate the instrument.

Prepare Sample

1. Add 12 drops of Hardicol liquid buffer to the sample.
2. Stir the sample to mix the buffer thoroughly.
3. Add a Hardicol No. 2 tablet to the sample.
4. Crush and stir the tablet until fully dissolved.

Measure Total Hardness

1. Place the prepared sample in the cell holder.
2. Press the Measure button on the instrument.
3. Allow the timer to count down for 2 minutes.
4. The result for Total Hardness will be displayed on the instrument
