Connecting the Unit to Power

Before plugging in the AC/DC power adapter to an AC wall outlet, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indi­cated on the rating plate or power adapter. Battery Backup Battery backup will preserve the current time, alarm settings, and stored radio stations in the case of power failure or interrupted AC power. The LED display will remain off until power has been restored. Insert two UM-4 batteries {AAA) into the bat­tery compartment. Be sure to observe the proper polarity {the”+” and”-” signs) as indi­cated inside the battery compartment.

Setting the Clock

Make sure the power is off before setting the clock time. {Press and hold c!> to turn off the power and place the unit in Standby mode.)

  1. Press and hold Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 until the display begins to flash.
    • Press the Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-13 {HOUR) button to adjust the hour. {Take note of the PM indi­cator when setting the hour.)
    • Press theNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-13 {MIN) button to adjust the minutes.
  2. Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 The year will start to flash.
    • Press theNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15buttons to adjust the year.
  3. PressNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16. The month/date will start to flash.
    • Press theNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15 buttons to adjust the month and date.
    • The date format is 11MONTH : DAY”. For example, March 15th will appear as 113:15″.
  4. PressNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 The day of the week will be shown.
    • The day is calculated automatically from the year and the date.
    • The week starts on Monday. There­ fore, 11d1″ is Monday, 11d2″ is Tuesday, 11d3″ is Wednesday, 11d4″ is Thursday, 11 d5″ is Friday, 11d6″ is Saturday, and 11 d7″ is Sunday.
  5. PressNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 to save and exit the setting mode.

Setting the Alarm

Make sure the power is off before setting the alarms. (Press and hold c!> to turn off the power.).

  1. Press v- (AL1) to set the alarm 1 mode to the buzzer, FM, or off.
    • The Alarm 1 LED indicators will light for buzzer or FM mode.
    • The alarm is off if all indicators are off.
  2. Press and hold v- (AL1); the time for ALARM 1 will begin to flash.
    • Press the Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-13 (HOUR) button to adjust the hour. (Take note of the PM indi­cator when setting the hour.)
    • Press the Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-13 (MIN) button to adjust the minutes.
  3. Press v-(AL1) again to change the daily repeat mode of ALARM 1.
    • Press theNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15 buttons to adjust the repeat mode.
    • Select d1-d7 to have the alarm sound every day.
    • Select d1-d5 to have the alarm sound on weekdays only (e.g., Mon­day to Friday).
    • Select d6-d7 to have the alarm sound on weekends only (e.g., Satur­day and Sunday).
  4. Press v-(AL1) to save and exit the setting mode for ALARM 1.

To set ALARM 2, press v+ (AU) instead in the instructions above. Press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button when the alarm is sounding to stop the alarm and have it sound again automatically aFTer 9 minutes. Turning the Alarm Off When the alarm sounds, pressNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-14 to turn it off. This will turn off the alarm for the day, only. The alarm indicators will remain unchanged and the alarm will sound again as scheduled.

Setting the Sleep Time

Set a timer so that the radio will turn itself off automatically.

  1. Press sNoozE/SLEEP repeatedly to set the sleep time (90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 min or OFF).

Radio Mode PressNaxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-14 to turn the radio on and to select the FM radio source.

  1. Press v- or v+ to adjust the volume.
  2. Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15 to tune to the desired sta­tion.
  3. Press and hold Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15 to scan to the next frequency with a radio signal.
  4. Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 to tune to a preset station.
  5. To save the current station to preset memory:
    • Press and hold Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16.
    • Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-15 to select a preset memory number (P01 to P10). Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 to save.

To remove a station from preset memory, you will have to save it with another station. Extend and position the FM pig­tail antenna for optimal radio re­ception.

Bluetooth® (bt) Mode

A Bluetooth-enabled device must be paired with the radio before using them together for the first time. After a device has been paired, the radio will automatically connect to it when placed in Bluetooth (bt) mode.

  1. Make sure Bluetooth® is enabled on your device. Enable it if it hasn’t.
  2. Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 until the display reads bt. The ra­dio is now in Bluetooth mode.
  3. Use your device to search for available Bluetooth devices (i.e., your radio). This function is usually in the Bluetooth set­tings menu; refer to your device’s in­struction manual to learn more
  4. The radio will announce itself as “NAXA NRC-182.” Select it from the list.
  5. The radio will play an ascending tone to indicate that pairing was successful. Start playback on your device.

If the pairing process fails, turn the radio oft place it in BT mode again, and repeat steps 1-5. Make sure that the volume of your device is set to its maximum level; then use the radio to adjust the volume to a comfortable level. If your device supports Bluetooth remote functions, you will also be able to use buttons on the radio to control playback. The radio cannot be paired with more than one device at a time. Use your device to unpair with the radio before attempting to pair another device.

AUX Input Mode

Connect any audio device equipped with a standard headphone jack (or 3.5 mm line out) to the radio. Use a 3.5 mm audio patch cable to connect the headphone jack of your device to the AUX IN jack found on the back of the radio.

  1. Prepare the radio. Press Naxa Electronics NRC-182 Dual Radio Alarm Clock-16 until the dis­play reads AUX, then press v- to lower the volume level.
  2. Prepare the audio device. Start playback on the device then set the volume level of the device to approximately 80% of its maximum.
  3. Adjust the final volume on the radio. Use the v- and v+ buttons to set the volume to a comfortable level.

Use the audio device to control playback (e.g., stop, play, next). Use the radio to control the vol­ume.

Charging Your USB Devices

Use the USB cable provided by your device manufacturer to connect the device to the USB charge ports on the side of the radio. USB cables may differ by manufacturer, so be sure to use the one provided with your device. Some devices may not support USB charging or may require a higher power rating than this product provides. Observe the charging status on your device, or refer to the manufacturer’s spec­ifications. There are many differ­ent devices with different power requirements; we cannot guaran­tee charge support for all devices. Ensure that your device is work­ing properly before attempting to charge it.
