Zosi NVR System: Quick Start Guide
1. What's in the Box
The box typically contains the NVR, a 12V 2A Power Supply, a USB Mouse, an Ethernet Cable (1m), and a Quick Start Guide. Please note that products and accessories may vary by model.
2. Introduction to the NVR
The NVR (Network Video Recorder) is the central unit for your surveillance system. It connects to cameras and allows for recording, playback, and remote access. Key components include the NVR unit itself, antennas for wireless connectivity, and various ports for connections.
3. Connection Diagram
Follow these steps to connect your NVR system:
- Connect the NVR to your router using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect a monitor to the NVR via the HDMI port.
- Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the NVR's side panel.
- Connect the NVR to the 12V power supply.
- After the system starts, connect your IP cameras to their power supplies. The cameras will automatically pair and connect to the NVR (supports up to 8 cameras).
- The monitor will display the real-time monitoring feed from the cameras.
Note: It is recommended to power on the NVR first for testing before final installation to ensure proper device function.
4. Access the System
4.1. Smartphone Access
Download the "Zosi Smart" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Alternatively, scan the provided QR code to download and install the app. Follow the on-screen instructions to register an account and access your system.
4.2. PC Access

5. System Settings
5.1. Mouse Operation
Left Button:
- Preview or Playback Interface: Double-click a single channel to enter full screen; double-click again to exit.
- Navigation Menu: Left-click to select a menu option.
Right Button:
- Preview Interface: Right-click to open the main menu.
- Navigation Menu: Right-click to exit the current menu or return to the previous menu.
5.2. Menu Bar Introduction
Right-click anywhere on the screen to open the menu bar. Common options include:
- Single: Select a single channel for live viewing.
- Multi: Select multiple channels for live viewing.
- Start Scan: Start or stop scanning for cameras.
- Colour: Adjust color and image settings.
- E-Zoom: Electronically zoom the preview interface.
- Audio: Adjust camera volume.
- PTZ: Control the Pan-Tilt-Zoom of compatible cameras.
- Snap: Capture and save live view images.
- Stop Record: Start or stop recording.
- Time Playback: Search and play back recorded video.
- Intelligent Detect: Set up features like Human Detection and Siren-Light Alarm.
- IPC Channel Config: Manage IPC (IP Camera) channel configurations.
- Main Menu: Access the main system menu.
5.3. System Password
The factory default username is "admin" with an empty password. For initial login, simply enter "admin" and leave the password field blank. It is highly recommended to change the password for security.
Change Password Path: Right-click mouse > Main Menu > Setup > Users > Change Password. The new password must be at least 6 characters long. Please store your password securely.
6. Date & Time Setting
To set the date and time: Right-click mouse > Main Menu > Setup > Basic > Date & Time. Select the appropriate time zone for your region and click "Apply" to save. The default time zone is GMT.
7. Video Playback
Access video playback by right-clicking the mouse > Playback > Video Playback/Quick Playback.
- Video Playback: Allows playback via time search or event search.
- Quick Playback: Provides quick playback of the last 30 minutes of video.
Playback controls include Mute, Backup, E-Zoom, Pause/Play, Previous Frame, Next Frame, Fast Forward, Rewind, Speed Up, Speed Down, and Exit.
8. Backup
- Insert a USB drive into the USB 2.0 port on the NVR.
- Right-click the mouse > Main Menu > Backup.
- Select the desired channels and time period, then click "Search".
- Select the video clips you wish to back up and click "Apply".

Q: No Video Output on the Monitor?
- Ensure the monitor's lowest resolution is 720p or higher.

Q: Failed to Remotely Access the Camera via Mobile Phone or Computer?
- Confirm the NVR is connected to the network (NVR Menu > Network > Test).
- Test internet connectivity by connecting your phone or computer to the same network as the NVR.
- Reboot your NVR and router.
Q: Does the system support motion detection and image capture?
Yes, the system automatically captures images when people or cars are detected, or when there are changes in detected images. Users can also manually capture images using the Zosi Smart APP.
