What's in the Box:

  • Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX IP-Touch 4038 Phone Unit
  • Handset
  • Handset Cord
  • Ethernet Cable
  • User Guide (this document)
  • Keyboard (integrated)
  • Palm Rest

Note: A power supply unit is not included with this phone. The phone is designed to be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) (802.3af compliant). If PoE is not available, a separate Alcatel-Lucent compatible power adapter must be purchased.

2.2 Connecting the Phone

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the side of the phone base.
  2. Connect to Network/Power: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the "LAN" port on the back of the phone and the other end to a PoE-enabled network switch or router. If not using PoE, connect the Ethernet cable to the "LAN" port and connect a compatible power adapter (sold separately) to the power input port.
  3. Connect to PC (Optional): If you wish to connect a computer through the phone, connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the "PC" port on the back of the phone.
  4. Connect Headset (Optional): If using a headset, plug it into the 2.5mm headset jack on the side of the phone.

The phone will power on automatically once connected to a PoE source or external power adapter. It will then attempt to connect to your Alcatel OmniPCX system.
