1. The power cord or plug becomes frayed or damaged
2. You spill something into the case (the openings)
3. The computer has been dropped or the case has been damaged
4. The computer is suspected to get checked or repaired
5. You want to clean the case and inner

Important: The best way to turn off the computer without harm to it is to “softly shut down”, that is to click “start” select “turn off”. Do not re-plug the power cord until the computer stop running.

Care during use

1. Do not walk on the power cord or allow anything to rest on it.
2. Keep your computer away from sources of liquids, for example water, drinks etc.
3. When the computer is turned off, a small amount of electrical current still flows. Always unplug all power, modem, and network cables from the power outlets before cleaning the computer.
4. Protect your computer from dampness or wet weather, for example rain, snow, hail etc.
5. Read all the instruction guide carefully before connecting your computer to any device.
6. Keep these instructions handy for reference by you and others.
7. Follow all instructions and warnings when deal with your computer.
8. If you encounter the following technical problems with the product, unplug the power cord and contact a qualified service technician or our after-service.

• The power cord or plug is damaged.
• Liquid has been spilled into the system.
• The computer does not function properly even if you follow the operating instructions.
• The computer was dropped or the cabinet is damaged.
• The computer performance changes.

Important: Do not allow children access to the interior of any electrical product and do not permit them to handle the computer.

Setting Up

Please remove the protective film or plastic bag of the computer if there is any before you set up the system. Here is the brief introduction as an example of V8-7200U for your reference.

1. Connecting USB 3.0 devices
   Connect USB 3.0 devices such as external hard drives, SSD and flash drives to the USB 3.0 port.
2. Connecting USB 2.0 devices
   Connect USB devices like wired/wireless keyboards (varying with areas), mouse devices and printers to the USB ports on the side of the computer.
3. Connecting the Wi-Fi antenna module
   Connect the included Wi-Fi antenna to the Wi-Fi antenna connector.
4. Connecting to a network device
   Connect one end of a network cable to the LAN port on the computer and the other end to a network hub, switch or router.
5. Connecting to a VGA display
   Connect one end of a VGA cable to the VGA port on the computer rear panel and the other end to a VGA-compatible display like a monitor or projector.
6. Connecting to a HDMI display
   Connect one end of a HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the computer rear panel and the other end to a HDMI-compatible display like a TV or monitor.
7. Turning on the computer
   Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC IN jack on the computer rear panel and then press the power switch on the front panel to turn on the computer.
   Note: When your computer is not in use, unplug the power adapter or switch off the AC outlet to conserve power.
   

Some computers come with other interfaces such as LPT, COM, VGA, DVI, Mini-DP, USB-C, etc. Please connect the devices to the correct port referring to the picture here. If some devices do not work please test again after installing the driver.

Here is the detailed introductions with some similar pictures of our computers for your reference.

1. Plug the AC cord firmly into the specified power adapter. Plug the cord from the power adapter into the computer. Plug the power adapter into a grounded power outlet.
   
2. To access the internet, connect an Ethernet cable or Fiber cable.
3. Connect the USB cable from your keyboard and mouse.
   The computer does not come with a keyboard and mouse, but you can use any brand USB keyboard or mouse to work with the computer. The computer have both USB2.0 and USB3.0 ports, so it is ok for you to use the keyboard, mouse or other important interfaces.
   Important: Do not place anything on top of the computer especially battery or battery products.
4. Connect the computer with a monitor or an interactive whiteboard Connect the computer with a monitor by VGA cable or HDMI cable.
   If you are using an interactive whiteboard with the computer, you need connect the computer with the whiteboard by USB cable, meanwhile a projector also need to connect to the computer by VGA cable or HDMI cable or DP cable.
   Note: Some interactive whiteboards may need install drivers to work with the computer, make sure that the right driver is installed before you want to touch the whiteboard by hand or stylus. If you can’t install the driver for some reasons, use the keyboard and mouse for operating.
   You can use DP to VGA/DVI Adapter or Connection to connect monitor with VGA/DVI port if the computer you purchased with DP port.
5. Press the power button on the back of the computer to turn it on.
   
6. Install an operating system
   When you want to install a new operating system for the computer, first you need to figure out which one you want to use, Operating systems have varies of system requirements, so make sure that your computer can handle a new operating system.
   Note: Our package don’t include CD Driver, pls contact our Pre-sales to give you the Driver link to download if you install a new Operating System.
   1. Decide which operating system to install
      a. Most Windows installations require at least 2GB of RAM, and at least 15-20GB of hard disk space. Make sure that your computer can accommodate this, if not, don’t change the operating system.
      b. Linux operating systems typically don’t’ require as much space and computing power as Windows operating systems. The requirements vary are depending on the distribution you choose (Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint etc)

      Configuration	RAM≥2GB, SSD≥16GB or HDD≥160GB
      Suggested OS	Linux, Windows

   2. Decide whether to purchase or download
      Windows licenses need to be purchased. Each license comes with a key good code for one installation. Most Linux distributions are free to download and install as much as you’d like, though some Enterprise versions are closed and require purchase (Red Hat, SUSE etc)
   3. Research your software compatibility
      Make sure that the operating system you want to install supports the programs that you want to use. If you use Microsoft Office for work, you won’t be able to install it on a Linux machine. There are substitute programs available, but the functionality may be limited.
      Note: Many games that work on Windows will not work on Linux. The number of supported titles is growing, but be aware that if you are an avid gamer your library might not transfer over smoothly.
   4. Obtain your new operating system.
      If you ‘ve purchased a copy of Windows from a store, you should have received an installation disc along with your product code. If you don’t have the disc, but have a valid code, you can download a copy of the disc online. If you are installing Linux, you can download an ISO of the distribution from the developer’s website.
      Note: An ISO file is a disc image that needs to be burned to a disc or copied a bootable USB drive
   5. Decide which way to install the new operating system
      Since the computer does not come with CD-ROM, you need use an USB external Hard Disk or USB drive to install the new operating system. If you don’t know how to install please inquire your local qualified technician, or purchase the computer with memory and hard disk pre-installed operating system well by MINI TREE.
7. Load the drivers
   Once the operating system installation is completed, you will be taken to your new desktop. From here, you can begin installing your programs and making sure that your drivers are installed and up to date. Make sure to install an antivirus program if you are going to connect the computer to Internet.
8. Fix it by a stand holder
   Usually a plastic stand holder(black or white) comes with the computer instead as default accessories that you just need insert the computer into the holder vertically then put the computer near your monitor as in the following pictures.
   
   Or some computers come with a metal bracket and screws like V8 model, you shall find two small holes on the side of V8 housing firstly, then fix the bracket by the two small black screws as in the following pictures.
   
   Using the Computer
   When you finish setting up your computer, the computer is ready to be started using.
   Using the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Ports
   The computer has both USB2.0 and USB3.0 interfaces for connecting additional equipments including a keyboard, a mouse, a web camera, a game pad, disk drive and USB drive. USB makes it easy to connect peripherals. In most cases you can connect and disconnect a USB device while the computer is running. Once you connect the device, it is ready to use.
   Note: If you need use multi USB devices to work with the computer that the current USB ports is not enough, you can use an USB Hub.
   
   When you plug the USB devices into an USB port on the back of the computer, do not force it, make sure the sides are matched before plugging.
   Ethernet (10/100/1000Base-T)
   The computer comes with 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Base-T (Twisted pair) Ethernet networking capability, which you can use to connect to a network or to a cable or DSL Modem.
   
   Use 4-pair category 5 (Cat 5) Ethernet Cables to connect to a 1000Base-T Ethernet network.
   Audio
   The computer comes with a microphone port so you can connect microphones or a speaker to listen music. You also can connect the computer to your stereo system at home by using a 3.5-millimeter mini plug-to-RCA cable.
   

Customizing the Computer

If you purchase the computer with barebone system(No RAM, No Storage, No Wi-Fi), you can customize the computer, then you shall install the memory, hard disk and wireless module by yourself.

Installing a memory module

1. Open the chassis using a screwdriver.
2. You shall know the RAM style from DDR3, DDR3L and DDR4 that your computer supports and select the correct and proper memory module.
3. Locate the SO-DIMM memory slot and insert a memory module into the slot at a 45 degree angle.
4. Gently press down on the memory module until it locks into place by the arms of the memory slot, remember plug the memory module deep into slot completely.
   
   Note: Some computers come with one memory slot. When the computer comes with two memory slots, please insert a module into the lower slot.

Installing hard disk

There are three types of hard disk we often use: MSATA SSD, 2.5 inch SATA HDD/SSD and M.2 SSD. Here is one picture to show you how to distinguish and install.
When you install a MSATA SSD or M.2 SSD, you plug the SSD deep into the corresponding slot completely, using a small screw fix it on the motherboard.

Installing a 2.5″ SATA HDD as in the picture [Model: V8-7200U]

1. Open the chassis using a screwdriver.
2. Find a SATA cable and power cable from the package box, install them into the correct slot.
3. Connect the SATA cable with the 2.5″ SATA HDD.
4. Find four screws to fix the 2.5″ SATA HDD on the backside of chassis.
   

Installing a wireless module

There are two types of wireless module slot: Mini-PCIE half for Wi-Fi and Mini-PCIE full for 4G Module.

1. Open the chassis using a screwdriver.
2. Select the proper wireless module, assemble dual RF cables on the wireless card, install the card on the correct slot as in the picture [Model: V7-5500UC] and fix it by one small screw using a screwdriver.
3. There are two Wi-Fi holes on the case of your computer, fix the Wi-Fi connector by washer.
4. Find the included dual external wireless antennas(black/white) from the package box and connect them to the Wi-Fi connector well.
   

Installing a CMOS battery

The computer often comes with a CMOS battery on the motherboard like the picture.
If your computer is losing its time or date settings, or you are receiving a message CMOS Read Error, CMOS checksum error, or CMOS Battery Failure, or lost display, for example, some users using the computer and find all indicator shows correct, RAM also correctly plugged in, but totally no display, it may due to the CMOS problem, it remembers some error and shows nothing on hardware, you will need to remove your CMOS battery and try it again.

Mounting the Computer to a Monitor as an example of the computer V2

If you get a small monitor with VESA port and don’t like to put the computer on the desk, you can mount the computer behind of your monitor before setting up.

1. Find the mounting kits coming with the computer package
   
   A metal piece with many holes and 4 screwed nails
2. Find another four flat screws in the package, insert them into the computer back holes and tighten them.
   
3. Using the four screwed nails fix the metal piece on behind of the monitor. Make sure the metal piece put in right direction like showing in the following picture.
   
4. Hang the computer on the metal piece by inserting the flat screws into the 4 middle holes of the metal piece, adjust the computer, make sure the 4 screws slide to down and fixed.
   
   Note: The mounting kits are not always coming with the computer as this set is optional. Usually a plastic stand holder comes with the computer instead as default accessories that you just need insert the computer into the holder vertically then put the computer near your monitor described on the above Setting Up.
   Other Applications: The computer also can be fixed in Touch Kiosks, Advertising Player, outside Cabinet for CCTV etc.
