5. Tatūnga
5.1. Gateway Installation and App Setup

5.2. Smoke Detector Installation
The smoke detectors can be installed using either the magnetic mount or screws.
- Magnetic Mount (Drill-Free):
- Clean the ceiling surface where the detector will be mounted.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive side of the magnetic mount.
- Firmly press the magnetic mount onto the desired ceiling location.
- Attach the smoke detector to the magnetic mount. It will snap into place.
- Screw Mount (Permanent):
- Mark the drilling points on the ceiling using the mounting bracket as a template.

- Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks into place.

5.3. Adding Smoke Detectors to the App
Once the gateway is set up, add each smoke detector to the app:
- Open the HEIMAN Home Security app.
- Select the option to add a new device (usually a "+" icon).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to pair the smoke detector with the gateway. This typically involves pressing the test button on the smoke detector.
- Assign a name and location (e.g., "Living Room Smoke Detector") to each detector for easy identification.
6. Mahi
6.1. Testing the Smoke Detector
It is recommended to test your smoke detectors weekly or monthly to ensure proper functionality.
- Press and hold the large test/silence button on the smoke detector for a few seconds.
- The detector will emit a loud alarm (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash.
- If connected to the gateway, all other interconnected detectors will also alarm, and you will receive a notification on your smartphone.
- Release the button to stop the test alarm.

6.2. Silence Function
In case of a false alarm (e.g., from cooking steam), you can temporarily silence the alarm:
- Local Silence: Press the large test/silence button on the alarming smoke detector. The alarm will be silenced for a short period (e.g., 10 minutes) before resetting.
- App Silence: Open the HEIMAN Home Security app. When an alarm is active, an option to silence the alarm will appear. Tap this option to silence the alarm remotely.

6.3. Interconnected Alarms
When one smoke detector detects smoke, all other connected detectors in the system will also sound an alarm. This ensures rapid warning throughout your entire home, even if the fire starts in an unoccupied area.

6.4. Remote App Notifications
The gateway sends real-time push notifications to your smartphone when smoke is detected, even when you are away from home. This allows you to take immediate action or contact emergency services.

The HM2SA-1W-T smoke detector features a sealed, integrated 10-year battery (CR123A 3V DC). This eliminates the need for frequent battery changes, providing long-term, maintenance-free operation. The app will notify you of a low battery status.
