The Nuki Smart Lock Pro is designed for easy DIY installation on the inside of your door. No drilling or cylinder replacement is typically required.

  1. Taki Hototahi: Before installation, ensure your door and lock cylinder are compatible. Nuki provides an online compatibility checker on their official website. Your existing lock must allow key operation from the outside even when a key is inserted on the inside.
  2. Whakapiki: The Smart Lock mounts over your existing cylinder and key. Depending on your cylinder's protrusion, you may use an adhesive mounting plate or a screw-on plate. Follow the detailed instructions in the included Installation Guide.
  3. Key Preparation: Your key must be inserted into the Smart Lock. In some cases, if your key is too long, it may need to be trimmed slightly to fit within the device's specifications (e.g., less than 37mm protrusion from the cylinder).
  4. Tatūnga Tuatahi: Once physically mounted, download the Nuki app on your smartphone and follow the on-screen instructions to pair and calibrate your Smart Lock.
